Is it fair to say that someone who kills someone for a hundred dollars is insane?

According to definitions, every murderer could be said to be not guilty by reason of insanity. It is interesting to see where, how, and why humans draw the line of insanity where they do.

Even now I can feel the thoughts of people thinking: no, Storch, sometimes the murderer is just plain mean.

I agree with you on the insanity thing.

I am just wondering what you believe as far as evil is concerned. I personally believe no supernatural evil exists, but I do believe in the twisted thoughts and acts of men that we can still refer to as evil.

Evil is a word that people use to describe deeds done which are totally devoid of consideration for others.

Do you think that empathy is learned?

I believe it is a learned behavior, though some people never learn it and are quite incapable of learning it. As a general rule psychopaths do not care for anyone. Sociopaths, simply do not care for anyone period. I consider myself a borderline sociopath.

When I was younger, I considered the life of even a moderately loyal dog to be worth as many humans as one could kill in a day.

But that was a different time. Hell, that was back in '09 . . .

I believe it is natural for people to consider animals more worthy than most humans.
