I'm most of those things, but I also have a very open mind.... maybe the being 'insane' helps to balance then out. heh

I will admit, it's very possible if that is what you want to do with your life... it's harder if it's not your passion.

 

I'm selfish unless someone meets my needs. When my needs are met, I have the luxury of putting someone else first. I wouldn't work at a full-time job without a paycheck , because my needs wouldn't be met. Same with marraige, as much as aI love Andy, I couldn't have moved in with him without a proposal etc, because my needs for security wouldn;t have been met.
I think with the exception of kids, people should always put themselves first, untilt heir needs are met, especially women, as men have tendency to mistake kindness and flexibility for weakness.

 

It's also money that shold be going to a societies future; their children. That money should go to send your kids to school and have small class sizes and qualified teachers and a liscened school nurse, not so an able man can travel.
I think men should support themselves if they are able to...

but, it's not right when it's at other people's expense...if you can fund your own travels, more power to you. But, don't take away from your country's schools, services for people with disabilities etc.

 

Obviously I fund my own travels. But if there were ways to (legally) fuck society, I would gladly take its money. I am selfish enough to not care about it, just like it does not care about me as a minority.

But, by taking society's money, wouldn't you be enslaving others?

 

I wouldn't say selfish but to think about oneself and treat oneself well is of major importance - without ingnoring others either.. or treating them like shit.. one has got to be tolerant

 

I will not going into the 'one person doesn't make a difference' mode.

However, I don't think I would enslave anyone, because in my opinion they are already enslaved. Whatever the means are, they are stuck in a life they were forced into and probably never escape from.
So in the end it doesn't matter if they get schooled or whatever. Fine, they can buy a bigger car if they have a good education and a decent job to match that. Is that really important?

but I don't think putting people first is a good thing - I mean there's gotta be a balance. Think of your own, respect yourself, give yourself what you want - and don't forget you're not alone on Earth either..

 

Yes, it is, because that might be their dream. Their dream might be to attend college and be a teacher or a phalanthropist. You would be takign away their choice and limiting their options, because it is not what you you deem as free and important. You would be doing the very thing you hate.

Dude, if the system he lives in allows for doles, then he's doing nothing wrong. It's not the same as pointing a gun to your head and taking your money away. Are you one of those isolationist vigilantes? Pretty much every liberal is these days.
