Ive never had problems with my retainers falling out, only with screws coming unscrewed. Once while swimming, where it went in my mouth and I almost choked on it. Now I just wear a tapered ring with no screw using Orings to hold it in place. I actually got a call from the piercer today, they got my new ring in I cant wait to go get it.

 

looks kind of annoying to clean.

Septum is not an easy piercing. But on mine, the clamps hurt worse than the needle. The only thing that really sucks is the "healing smell" will be right in your nose. It goes away

 

i agree. i hated the clamp more. freehanded piercings are my friend.
