depends on the specific circumstances of the relationship/breakup. but generally, no.

I don't like phone, prefer text or email when possible, and don't like too much or too demanding of contact. I might be out of touch for most of the day or for a couple of days, and even when I have my phone with me it's often turned off. If someone else can't plan ahead that isn't my problem.

It's not easy planning ahead to talk to someone in Japan a lotz... But I believe it is worth ruining my sleep pattern for at least a week until I just fall unconscious on my own if I love her...

But why does that sound creepy? It shouldn't IMO...

Kind of sounds like it wouldn't be easy to talk to someone on another continent without planning ahead, if you ask me.

And sure, if you love someone some compromises are appropriate, like one of you staying up late and the other getting up early so you have time to talk.

Work can complicate that though, bosses can be quite demanding.

And you want sleep so you aren't going to fall asleep at the wheel. Then your significant other (spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend) would really miss you.

Online camming, instant chats, texting, and voicemail, should be acceptable for long distance in my humble opinion

Sure. My only point was that A. it's not weird to be willing to compromise in order to spend time together, and B. if it's a long distance relationship spending time together, however it's done, will probably take planning.
