The only feedback I've ever gotten is people banging on walls/yelling. :tearsofjoy:

My partner is mostly silent during a blow job. When we are having sex, and he is near the point of cumming, his face is so pleasant to look at, and he makes low moans that are almost inaudible, but his face shows the pleasure his body is experiencing, and that's all I need. I wish he'd be more vocal during oral sex, but that's how he is - we arean't all the same. I make too much noise.

As a 30s married woman there is no way I can stay silent when having sex. Lucky we live on a bid block of land & when hubby is banging me I fucking scream the house down. I'm a multiple orgasmer also, so things get really wild.

This post is from 2020 but I hope input is still helpful

Vocalising is important during sex and masturbation so Girlcurious situation is very sad and she is right to not want to let it get into her head. Her situation however is not unusual and many people make love and masturbate in silence and many face her problem.

Making sounds during sex takes two forms, making non-lingual sounds [moaning, grunting, weeping, screaming, heavy breathing, etc] and vocalisation/talking. This can take several forms and be positive and negative; men can be prone to misogynistic and abusive vocalisation during sex. Typically, vocalisation will be -- Non-specific expression [Oh God], Instruction or encouragement [Harder, Faster, Suck my nipples], Statement of love and affection [I love you, You taste so nice], Expression of feeling [I'm very horny, Oh that's so good] or Announcement [Oh I'm gonna cum]. Vocalisation can and does continue after sex especially in the immediate refractory phase. Non-lingual sounds tend to be automatic expressions arising out of sensation, arousal and during orgasm.

How do some people come to make love in silence [literally cum quietly]?

One reason is the taboo and fear that arises out of masturbation, for most of us our first experience of sex and orgasm. Not wanting to be overheard or caught 'wanking' leads many of us to do it in necessary silence. This then becomes an ingrained habit eventually leading us to make love with another silently. This is especially so during orgasm and indicators suggest men are more prone to ejaculating in silence than women are when they cum. Another important factor is limited sexual knowledge and experience or sexual shyness leading to embarrassment and a reluctance to expression. I have read of women stating that they feared a man would think them 'slutty' if they indicated pleasure or preference and of men who thought women would think any announcement during ejaculation was 'gross'. Coming from a culture or background where sex and masturbation was thought sinful would encourage such reluctance. Low levels of education can also contribute because of a limited knowledge of sex, prejudicial or taboo attitudes and a limited vocabulary with which to vocalise in a positive and loving fashion.

As forums can be helpful through shared experiences, let me share mine. As an older guy, though I reached sexual adulthood in the so-called 'Swinging Sixties' (they weren't actually that uninhibited or positive) I grew up in a family with repressive attitudes. When I started to masturbate, although I knew it was natural and okay, I felt twinges of shame and I an my peers lived in constant fear of being found out especially actually being caught in the act. This must have led to negativity toward sex and even after I left home to live in a small flat never made any sound whilst masturbating or as I ejaculated. My first sexual experience with a woman was with my first serious girlfriend. We would engage in mutual masturbation but, although it was passionate and wonderfully empowering and we talked about it openly at other times, I cannot recall either of us making much noise as we did it so that whilst it was easy for her to know that I had cum I had to ask her each time if she had too! My first wife was a Catholic so that it was not until we married that there was any real sexual interaction between us and for the limited time we remained together intercourse was both unadventurous and in silence. This changed dramatically when I met the woman I left her for who encouraged me [both literally and as a result of the intense love and passion I felt for her] to vocalise especially when cumming. The release and exhilaration of freely expressing my orgasm caused me to become highly vocal. As a result to this day vocalisation-words and sounds are an essential component of both sex with my partner and when I masturbate.

Even alone I vocalise about my body, how I am feeling, and what I am doing. On the very rare occasions when circumstances necessitate silence masturbation is less intense and orgasm weaker. I cannot contemplate silent sex. The psychological and emotional impact of vocalisation increases levels of arousal and awareness, makes masturbation more exciting and heightens orgasm.

In sex letting your partner know what you want, how much sex with them pleases, when you are about to cum and the intensity of your orgasm is essential to a loving relationship. So much so that Girlcurious's BF may just be unhelpfully shy or selfish and unloving and I hope they have now resolved the matter.

Screamed and shook the walls the other night - luckily there is no one living next door to me right now. Still love screaming, it just intensifies things. The more noise the better.

My partner does not make much noise. His facial expressions are great, but I don't always get to see them. I find I want encouragement through noise, no matter how low a sound he might make. I tend to make more noise and he loves it. But it's just not his nature to make noise.

I'm pretty quiet, maybe a bit of heavy breathing. My woman makes a bit of noise when no one else is around, quiet when she has to be.
I gave a guy a bj the other night, he was an absolute screamer! He shouted and hollared the whole time (10-15 minutes). First time blowing this guy, so I'm not sure if it's how he always is or if it was the fact we were in a very remote place. I'll find out and report back. Lol

Carnal desire is a great blessing of physical appreciation and bodily joy and the noise of sexual ecstasy is the language of carnal pleasure. Some of us speak loudly, others quietly and some within. However you sound may your voice speak the language and continue...... and if necessary buy the neighbours some ear plugs.

Me too! It's so hot when my lovers grunt as they're banging me. I like to be vocal as well, and I'm not faking it. That cock filling me up and hitting my sweet spot is such a turn-on!

A fg/fb would sometimes put her hand on my mouth when I came, our heads were by the wall between two apartments. I can be loud sometimes

Whether I'm with a man or a woman, I love the dirty talk, the moans and groans. Tell me what works. When I'm with a man I love telling him to fuck me harder. With a woman I'll follow her lead. If she's vocal and dirty I'll be the same, and if she just moans I'll do that as well. It's not just about noise, it's what pleases your partner. I always keep the lines of communication open.
