I find that whether through coincidence or not, that the majority of trouble I have encountered of the years has involved race. I used to get chased, occasionally mugged, and often beaten up by the groups of black people that lived in an area which I had to walk to to get to work.

I was only about sixteen, it was terrifying. And this was around six o'clock, on a busy street- no one cared. Eventually some kid about my age got thrown down the train station steps and died, so my mum made me quit my job and I never walked back through there.

it's not coincidental. however, you have to look at the reasons behind the behavior, instead of blaming it on biology.

Conversely I grew up in an all-white community and had no trouble at all fitting in :2thumbsup:

Growing up I did have the advantage of being taller, faster, and stronger, than most of the kids so no one dared challenge me, and later on in middle school and in high school I was a member of the exclusive fraternity of jocks and no one, i mean no one fucked with us [IMG]

i'm not blaming it on anything, just making an observation in occurrence with the topic at hand. I mean, talking counteractively, one of my closest friends is black

it's all swings and roundabouts, really.

It's just the area these kids lived, and the attitudes they had around there. I never said it happened because they were black, people are usually a product of their environment. In light of that, I would suggest that perhaps some 'black culture' is to blame.

I never felt the need nor had the desire to bully others.

I don't think it really matters. The fact is it's a culture that can be hostile. So can our football culture be here in the UK, and that's predominately white.

Sometimes people will act up to silly stereotypes. I imagine they are the disappointing ones, not me for reckoning so.

I wasn't insinuating that, by the way. In case you felt like I was, just stating it matter of factually.

We didn't have jocks really, he just had bullies. I can't imagine every jock would bully somebody- sports don't usually equate to terrible behaviour :D

Actually I didn’t I just wanted to put that out there :sunny:

Now regarding sports; elbowing some guy in the face for a rebound or deliberately chop blocking in order to free up the running back isn’t bullying "It's how the game is played" :cheers2:

I really could care less about the random thought I started with this thread. but aside from my silly complaint The same differences in behavior exist in all races but I think it can be pretty extreme with the African american culture... You have a lot of wise folk, then a lot of loud young jackasses.

but are you trying to blame white oppression? which is obviously a major crime in American and World history...but if your thinking were right all black people would be behaviorally fucked up...but that's not the case...

What I think is more verifiable is an unfortunate decline in intelligence or attempts to use intelligence.....maybe because the long lasting reverberation of oppression and class differences has led to this...but in your daily life...it's a choice of character.

I actually think your approach takes credit away from the African race's ability to think for themselves.

And ya this thread does suck when there are such cliche hippie ideas of sociology tossed around as some kind of excuse.

when the day comes I don't think about people's behavior in their own individual light is probably the day I should die

the choices and opportunities are relative to the situation. so, if you put yourself in the situation of youth within a certain economic and social status, you may be able to understand how doing what you may define as "right" may seem an impossible goal for thse kids. so, they take the way that they know, the way that is easy. which is only human. we take the easy route. i also stated that there is an element of choice. but, unless you perceive that you have more than one choice and that choice seems attainable, you will do what everyone else in your community does.

it's not about black or white. many white kids in this situation do the same dumb shit. of course there are less white kids in this position, so it seems disproportionally black problem, when it's not. it's society's problem.

these are not "hippy cliches" these are scholarly theories. but way to back up your weak argument. cheers!

So these four pages can be summed up in one sentence.. "Black people are rowdier than white people."?
