    Everyone can relate to this song in some way. I heard it on the radio long time ago and thought "Eminem stole that fucking beat!" Years later with youtube I could hear it again. I only knew Paul Simon from his folk years with Garfunkel. Hearing this gave me new appreciation for his song writing abilities.

    I just wanted to comment on the variety of music and artists posted.
    When I was growing up in the 50's and 60's we all listened to the same thing, mainly. Rockabilly, R&B, Motown, The Philly sound, the California sound, what they now call classic rock, etc. But we all knew the same songs. Unifying in one way.

    Just a thought.

    One of the best antiwar songs ever. Written by Eric in 1967.
    It starts with an a cappella verse then the instruments join in. In the middle it has a great section with diving airplanes, gunfire, explosions, general confusion and mayhem and a performance by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards on bagpipes playing "All The Bluebonnets Are Over The Border", which got Eric in trouble with the British government as he recorded them in secret. At the end a nice string section joins in as Eric and his band finish the song.

    The video was made in 1968 I think, before MTV.

    Been discussing Black Sabbath today... This song is from the last album of the Ozzy era and on an otherwise pedestrian album, this song stands out. Not only my favorite songs on this album but I think it's one of Black Sabbath's best songs. One of those songs that kind of flew under the radar. Bill Ward kills the drums, Iommi has some good guitar work, Geezer has a solid bassline, Ozzy is melodic, great all around.

    This was one of the first songs to introduce me to Hip Hop. When I was a kid me and my best friend rode our bikes down to the record shop, he bought this album (BAD) and I bought Metallica. We spent the next summer learning both albums inside and out. It's a summer I'll never forget.
