Jail time is the extreme consequence. The website isn't even saying that - I got that from my company email. The website is just saying finish up your Friday travel ASAP. The reason given is to keep roads clear for snow plows and power line crews.

It's kinda extreme. It's the first time I've ever heard of such a thing.

Of course I don't much want to go drive in that shit anyway. But obviously people should have the freedom to go out there and get killed if they want.

 

I feel so sick that I don't even feel like standing up to make coffee...

Probably a sign of impending apocalypse...

 

Just a temporary energy crisis.

 

It really is. It's stupid. My temp isn't even 99. Last night it was reading 98.5 and just now, 98.9. That's raw. I haven't had any fever reducer.

I have mild scratchy throat, mild sinus issues, mild occasional cough, mild headache, no body aches.

My biggest symptom is feeling weak and "sick".

It's just stupid.

I don't want to be sicker or have fever.

I want how I feel to match what the thermometer is reading!

This better not be how old age feels. :/

 

OR, if the thermometer read a lot higher, it would justify how you feel!

I've had illnesses like that - almost no fever to speak of, maybe some minor upper respiratory effects, with the main symptom being just an overwhelming feeling of fatigue. It's a legitimate symptom, just like fever. If you like, I could sign a note giving you permission to say you're really, really sick. I have a few connections in the medical community, they'd treat it as legit.

I know it's not old age. I was sick with heavy duty cold symptoms and December and did not feel weak and washed out like this.

This is something, with the major symptom being "feeling sick".

I'd appreciate some documentation.

I hate feeling like that, too, Aeri. If you were sicker, you could then (probably) start on the road to recovery. Feeling weak and puny with cold symptoms is awful limbo.

I come from a long line of people that think if you are told "just shake it off", you should then be able to do just that...and within hours - less than a day - you will Be Well. They also think that taking vitamins should cure ANYTHING. Only in extreme cases would a person need antibiotics. Also, according to these sadists, nobody should ever really need painkillers!!!

Of course I don't agree with ANY of that bs.

Is saying "shake it off" a southern thing?

A few weeks ago, taking massive doses of vitamin C, drinking juices and eating lots of oranges did "cure" me when I suddenly overnight had a bad cold.

I don't know...It's a sports thing though...I hate it when kids get hurt on the ball field and the coaches are all like "Shake it off".

Kinda reminds me of when someone (usually someone young and relatively inexperienced with any real emotional pain) says, "Just get over it."

Meanwhile 1500 miles away in Massachusetts, so far there are over 7,000 reported power outages. Wind gusts of 50 mph have been reported, and we're just starting to get into the real storm now.

My tauntaun may be dead soon...might need to rip open its belly and crawl in for warmth...
