Ummm, sorry...maybe I mixed up my terminology. Yes, you're right. Parole is when you've been in prison and are released with conditions. That wasn't the case with me. I was on probation. I had to report monthly to my probation officer. I misstated the case.

There were other requirements also. I had to go to anger management classes and a counselor. However I found the counselor first - a hardened criminal psychologist - and after hearing my story, he said, "You don't need anger management classes. That wouldn't do you any good. I'll talk to your probation officer and tell him I'm handling your anger management training." He was a fucking good man. He kept telling me, "You're caught on the web of the legal system. You stay on course, get through this, and you slowly edge off the web, and finally drop off. Do yourself a favor: Get off the web, and stay off."

 

Also, btw - my wife still doesn't know that I never attended anger management classes. I made it a point to never tell her what I was doing for my probation requirements. She will never know unless eventually she reads the book I'm writing.

Because SHE thought it was IMPERATIVE that I attend anger management classes.

As I told her once, "I never had anger management problems until I married you."

I had a live-in girlfriend and a wife of 13 years before my current wife. And in neither case did I EVER have anger management problems. And yet: My current wife has been trying to get me to a counselor about my anger "problems" since early in our marriage.

One of my greatest victories was when my current wife's ministerial candidacy committee ordered her to have a year of counseling, because they thought she was out of touch with herself. That pissed her off major big time. And one of the psychologists who evaluated her for her ministerial process thought she had boundary issues - i.e., she didn't respect other people's personal boundaries.

When she told me this, I just kept my mouth shut. It was something I had figured out about her years before. But could I tell her this? Of course not. She was in complete control of our relationship, and our whole family. Strict, strict control.

So sorry, but I appear to be observing a loss of her control. The truth can be a bitch, can't it?

Sorry for my rant, but I have had to keep this shit under wraps for so, so long...

Just letting folks know: We were relatively untouched by the storm. Total of about two feet of snow. Never lost power. I had one friend out on one of the islands in Boston Bay who lost power for a few hours, but she got it back early this morning.

I was thinking about shoveling snow off the outside stairway, but at lunch I asked my kids, "Anybody interested in helping shovel off the stairs?" The response was pretty negative, so I said, "So I have to shovel off the stairs all by myself?" Again no response.

So I just fucked it off. Hell if I'm gonna be the only one shoveling snow when I have three able-bodied kids who are fucking it off. Let them wade through the snow if they're too lazy to deal with it. I can wade through two feet of snow too.

Currently watching the movie The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo for about the third time. David Fincher. Genius director.

 

I used to communicate with guys on a blog forum for psychopaths/sociopaths and they recommended that movie, highly.

 

And there is the question, right out there, hovering at the end of your statement: Why? Why were you communicating with guys on a blog forum for psychopaths/sociopaths?

Just stating my interest. No need for an actual answer, unless you're so inclined.

I would hafta say: The character Lisbeth in the film does seem to be somewhat sociopathic. I would hafta say also that I slightly understand that. Just slightly. But ya know, the more you learn about the shit human societies regard as "social rules," the more you begin to see it as a major mountain of complete shit with no logical foundations.

 

Because, I felt the need to understand psychopaths.
