Good for you. We had a Dachshund when I was in my early teens. Max was a great dog. I had a chance to adopt a pair of dachshund brothers a week after Sunny died two years ago but it was just too soon for me. The woman wanted to keep them together and I understood that but did not know if I could keep up with them or if they would get along with Embers (my cat) so I had to decline. I hope they found a good home. They were precious.

"Get the contracts out asap" week is coming to an end real soon. Cant wait to have more time to interact with you crazy bastids!

See the neurologist tomorrow morning about the dizziness and migraines I hope he can find out what the heck is going on.

 

This is a time of great change for me and I am afraid of what is on the other side. It is completely unknown at this point, so I can't sit here and assume it's all going to be doom and gloom, but still, I am afraid.

This year has been the most insane, eventful, unstable time ever so far, and we are not even two months in. I need a second to catch my breath here.

God probably doesnt exist, but if he did, I would say please God let it be one of those stories where things are being taken apart only to be put back together in a better way than I ever thought possible.

 

I got a postcard from the GA Dept. Of Driver's Services to inform me of all the new hell I will have to go to renew my driver's license this time.

In order to renew my license I must present them all of the following:

-My Birth Certificate

-My Marriage License (because my name has changed "since birth")

-My Social Security Card

-Two utility bills (since I don't have a bank statement or employer verification of my address. How would an employer be able to vouch for your address anyway?)

And if I'd like to, I can go on line and create and print a "personalized document checklist" for myself. www.dds.ga.gov/SecureID


This gripes my ass. I've had this driver's license with the state of georgia since 1976.

The most recent dismantling of my life happened a long time ago. It's looking like it's being put back together again, finally...slowly, tho.

A couple times recently, Deanna - who was the major force for dismantling my life - says in my mind as if to her spirit cohorts, "Time to start building him back up."

It is true, Shiv my brother. When you use the power of creative visualization to re-envision your life, you set major machinery in motion. The amount of dismantling is directly proportional to the amount of change you're trying to accomplish.

Apparently I was pretty ambitious...

Really. Any third-rate computer programmer could find a way to verify shit like that without forcing citizens to bend over and spread 'em. But then, it seems that there are bureaucratic types who gravitate toward these jobs for the opportunities they afford to exert gratuitous power.


My 19-year-old son leaves for Americorps tonight. His plane leaves from Boston at 6:30 AM and arrives in Jackson, Mississippi around noon tomorrow. He seemed pretty excited to be going. I on the other hand spent a few moments in my room alone shedding tears. He won't be back until December.

I'll get over it tho. It's just the initial sense of loss. Been there, done that.

Exactly, Aerianne. Last time he left was for a month, for his Greyhound tour of the US. This is for 10 months. At least the universe is working me into it gradually. Thanks for the hug. I'm grateful for my online family in HF.

 

I hope it will be a fulfilling experience for him!
