I heard a new study that suggests a plane hit the pentagon. It was explained as this.

A bomb may have been on board of the plane. Moments before the plane hit, it exploded severing the cockpit from the plane. Explaining the fiery streak before it hit. The engines were still running, so it was flung like a chicken with its head cut off into the pentagon. At the speed it was traveling it was pretty much crushed to bits on impact.

It was a british blast tech that I heard on the radio that explained it as this. He set up a simulation and tested his theory. He said the results were almost identical.
