you know, my brother never took any classes, but he beat the shit out of countless people. he was a natural scrapper, from a very early age. never made any sense that he should be pretty, smart, athletic, charming AND a natural bruiser. just wasn't fair. no wonder so many people wanted to beat his ass. well, that and he was a bit of a conscienceless peckerhead.

ok, obviously you know a lot more about its origin than I do. I only wanted to say that originally it was meant as a substitute for arms, therefore the AK-47 analogy isnt such a bad one.

GLM, maybe you should take some self defense classes yourself to that the women you stalk will stop beating you up.

I do care deeply if other people get harmed. If I couldn't harm other people, then what would be the point of my existence?

Everyone has a right to defend themselves.

And if you're talking about prisoners and other types of people that make society as a whole feel a little rattled by the thought of them being trained to defend themselves... - They're not being taught to attack, but how to stop an attacker. Defend themselves. Not make other people wish they had taken a defanse class...

well getting over the bad language and all that what does the poll have to do with anything... Anyone seriously practising martial arts will not fight unless there is no other way... or in many cases if you insult their honour...

The poll says when it is okay for women to hit men in the balls... And it is very inacurate, because people often tick what sounds funniest...
Of course some use it on others but most just do it to show, it doesn't make people violent it makes them less violent...

If you are that ignorant as your reply and insist on being it in peoples faces, well you have to expect a whooping sometimes... That's life... But generally martial arts makes people less violent and more in control of themselves...

btw, I voted for all 4, so you poll... nope not really acurate... And in ancient asia they didn't use martial arts that much, only in a period of time on okinawa where karate was formed, otherwise it was mostly monks, because when you have a sword you don't have to use martial arts... Not in the army anyways...

    Hundreds.

That's the process of becoming very skilled at something. In kickboxing You end up sparing with thousands of people.

And when you spar with a good fighter, you're much safer then sparing with a begginer. The begginer will just try to power their way through, and someone will usually get hurt.

Good martial artists are very calculated. Again, I don't see what this threads about. You just seem to be singling out women, you haven't stated a reason other then being against violence, whih could be grounds for banning hammers.

The problem with suppresing martial arts is destroying a skill, and limiting personal freedoms, and without hammers, nothing would get nailed.

    It's a fact.
