Nope. There is simply no need.

Also, for the record, the military doesn't make that call. That is up to congress.

20 aye, 15 naye so far. I'm not too surprised because people only care about having equal rights even if it means disintegrating core values to a civilization. but I believe this is obviously not about rights, but getting more citizens fighting for the imperialist army. and then they can have a draft and draft moms or daughters to fight the arab enemy which is really a simulated enemy that we control. sad state of affairs for us here in america..

Like pointed out they can't have a draft so I guess it is really about rights and equal opportunities. Besides, even if these rights are all equal it is clear the majority of women will not choose for combat positions so it will never be a succesfull way to let the U.S. combat forces expand massively anyway.

What do you mean "they can't have a draft." Look if our corrupt, criminal government had a big enough crisis they would do anything to it's people, including rounding its subjects up and putting us in slave labor camps. Remember that..

I don't really support military or war to begin with, but I also think women have all the same rights men do, and really, in my opinion, women are far better fighters.

The First Sex by Elizabeth Gould Davis... and, ya know, being a woman, and having fought men (and won), and seeing men fight.

If they were to, you can bet I'm leaving. No one should be forced to fight.

So you've never been in line units or in combat environments? Both are worlds apart from what you have experienced.

Anyway, as I have said before, women have no place in combat.

Never claimed it was anything other than that. Though, it is an informed opinion based on direct experience with what is being discussed.

Yes, I agree the army and perhaps especially it's brotherhood in the frontlines is not fully prepared now to have female combatants in their units but I am sure the army and it's soldiers can adapt like they have adapted and progressed for centuries. They will always have to adapt anyway and they can and have to as society changes, not just warfare.

I don't think that is a good thing. A nation's military is there to protect society, not necessarily mirror it.

It doesn't have to mirror it but it has to adapt. That current soldiers think it is not a good thing is understandable though I think once succesfully assimilated so to speak it is better for everyone. Only the ladies that are suited for combat positions would be accepted of course. But it is nonsense to automatically exclude a certain gender because the freaking brotherhood would be in discomfort. It's just a matter of adjusting.

I have yet to meet one that could hack it.

I think you undervalue the concept of brotherhood. It goes a very, very long way in informing a unit's esprit de corp and morale. Those can make or break a fighting unit.

Perhaps I think a brotherhood can include females just as easily. Not at once but after awhile it just becomes normal. Just as there are already females in army positions that used be for men only they can also be in the combat units.

If soldiers are so tough and disciplined, can't they handle being around females? Or are they too out of control....

I can see you don't really understand the issue. If you did you wouldn't post drivel like this.
