hi, im a mexican thas goign all over to shwagstock, a friend told em to go over there, but she have never eben there either, so none of us know how is over there, have somebody been there?
Dude, I want to go to this bad! What's it like? We are considering a girls only trip down there just to get away from kids and hubbies for a weekend. Are there many 30-somethings or is it pretty much a younger crowd? Also I hear the local people don't care for it much, and the law is after you. Is this true?
There's good mix of ages from teens thru 60 and 70. Just don't go thru Salem. Come check it out I must warn you though you come once you'll wanna keep coming back... www.theschwag.com
check out the band "natural breakdown" when they play the shwagstock this year. they are my favorrite band, hopefully you will like them too.
Hey, so you're from KS, too, huh? I grew up in north central KS (AKA hell), went to college in Manhattan. I did read somewhere that Salem is a good town to avoid. You'd think they'd love it....anything that brings in large groups of people is good for the town's economy. Do you recommend coming in from the west rather than the north? I checked out the band's website and also the photos of camp zoe, it is gorgeous! Not sure if we will go to the one in July or the one in September. I see they have a Pink Floyd tribute band in September, and I absolutely looove the Pink. The July one is coming up pretty quick. Do you know if a person can pay at the gate, or is it better to buy tickets online? Also, is there much going on Thursday night? We are quite a distance, and would probably leave early Thursday morning on whichever weekend we'd come. We've never been to anything like this (well except Sturgis, but that's kind of different). Thanks!
Avoid Salem at all costs. Hmm... Lately it occurs to me, Its the same name as the town in Mass where the infamous witch trials occurred. Just by your tix at the gate. Try to camp down near the creek in July as it'll be cooler down there.
July event is coming up really soon, I'm quite excited I really don't find much of a difference in buying the tickets online or at the gate. Either way you might have to sit in a long line waiting to get through. But the earlier you get there the better. Sometimes I like to go a night early just because it can be nice to get there and have your stuff set up and all ready to go for the weekend and you beat the crowd at the gates. It is really beautiful there, I've had some wonderful times there, great environment and really nice people.
I've seen a lot of pics of camp zoe, it's beautiful. I don't know if we'll make it to the one this next weekend just because we have a lot of shit going on right now; I thought about just kidnapping one of my friends and heading down, and I would plan on coming a day early most likely if I got to go. Really enjoy meeting new people, hanging out, partying, listening to music...looks like a lovely place with a friendly atmosphere. I'm sure I'll get to go one of these times. I really want to. The people in my town are getting on my nerves..I need some friendly, happy people to chill with for a few days.
