*sigh* I don't know what to do anymore

It's always better to at least try rather than living with regret and wondering what could have been.
Don't worry about looking pathetic, because there is no way he can hang out with you and not have occasional memories pop up here and there. If he is still actually willing to hang out with you then I am sure he thinks about those times still too.
You never know, maybe he is just waiting for you to say something.

man, it's better to just say fuck regret!! i saw a great program once called "Carts of Darkness" (documentary made in Van, BC, about homeless guys who collect cans/bottles and ride shopping carts). in it there was a man who lived on a shitty mattress next to a stream in vancouver, bottles and garbage and shit everywhere, dangerous people possibly coming his way all the time, and he had fallen with a bottle in his sleeve a few weeks before and fucked up all the tendons in his arm.

he was trying to re-learn to play guitar and the interviewer guy asked him "so, do you regret anything in your life? what do you regret?" and he just shook his head and was like "you can't regret anything. shit happens to people, it happens to you and to me. you can't regret anything in this life." you might say 'well, fuck, he's just some fucked up homeless guy', but to me, that's pretty wise shit. dont regret, learn, because regret is like a monster that eats you from inside until you are just a shell living somewhere far away from here.

i would say tell him (i guess he knows know)
and if he doesn't feel the same way then stop hanging out/talking to him. it's just gonna drag up old feelings and make you feel like shit in the long run.
