I really enjoyed that movie... it was awesome. The dialogue at the start was pretty stilted, and there were some slow bits in the middle, but that's ok. I liked the girl at the end's acting (gilmore girl, don't know her real name) but Jessica Alba normally does a much better job than she did in that movie. Definately gonna have to buy this one and watch it repeatedly.

ive decided that there really isnt room for negative opinions in the film industry. No one wants to hear if YOU think a movie is bad. youll just make impressionable people not want to see the film, and everyone should form their own opinion.

I had to see it twice, to make my desicion. And although I thought it was visually brilliant, it was somewhat shallow storywise. I think they tried to compensate with the "OHHH" inducing violence. I dunno, it was alright.

I've been pestering my friend's to go see this for a week or so now. But they are always wanting to see the latest teen comedy or big-explosion blockbuster. Plus, they aren't too keen on the visual style.

I, on the other hand, think it looks brilliant. I can't wait until I can convince someone to go.

I went to see it tonight but my friend freaked out and couldnt watch it, so we went to the other room and wound up watching Hitch. Will Smith is so corny these days. Anyway... i need to find someone else to go see Sin City with now...

Okay, I saw it tonight -- a good ending to a good day.

I knew what to expect, because I'd been told that it was a comic-book-styled movie. I knew to expect "over-the-top" and that's exactly what it was. It was action like you'd see in a comic book -- exactly. A guy gets run down three or four times by a chick in a Porsche and he just gets bruised -- because he's supposed to be a big tough guy. But knowing that this was just supposed to be a comic book on film, I could accept it.

The acting was comic-book as well, but like you said, it was stylized so it was not like people were trying to act realistic and screwed it up. Kinda like that lame version of "Dick Tracy" they did in the '80s with Madonna and whatsisname. Warren Beatty.

It helped A LOT that I read the first of the graphic novels, the ones that deal with Kevin, the character played by Elijah Wood. It set a basis for me to understand the city and the characters and stuff.

    Overall, I liked it.

Terintino and Rodregez have to be some of the most artistic filmmakers of our times.

I actually fell asleep during the movie, I thought it was drawn out and to long. I lost intrest after Marv's story (Mickey Rourke). But, Micky Rourke was great in it, the dialougue seemed so Quentinesque, I was surprised to find that it was word for word from the graphic novel. But if your into comic books and detective stories, its a good flick. 3/5

I like graphic novels, but don't like Quentin Tarantino at all....would you recommend it to me?

I want to see it for the visual effects, but if it has too much Tarantino, I'm afriad I'll hate it.

    Visually its exciting and new!

But the dialouge reminds me of a Resevoir Dogs, and Q did guest director on it. His influence is definetly felt but it is still all Frank Miller. I think you should check it out see for yourself. It's worth the money and thats saying alot since the quality of movies coming out is not worth a shiny penny.

I have to add that I fell asleep because we went to see the latest showing and just finished smoking. When I got out of the theatre it was 11:30pm.

quote: since the quality of movies coming out is not worth a shiny penny.

Maybe thats why this one stood out as something I might want to see...haven't seen a film in the theater in ages!

But the dialouge is like Resevoir Dogs not Pulp Fiction? PF was the only one of his I liked.

Well I think Q's dialouge is always amazing, in any of his movies. There is just something about his style of interaction, that comes through in Sin City that has Q's influence. If you have seen Desperado or From Dusk 'Till Dawn which were directed by Robert Rodriguez and you liked those I say go see Sin City.

Tarantino didn't direct much of anything in that movie.

It was all Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller.

Tarantino didn't do much of the directing... i heard he only really did the pit scene, but that's just hearsay

it was extremely gory, sadistic, demented, and sick but since it's from a comic book, it is acceptable. This movie is not for the faint hearted.

I was glad when he cut that crazy fucking cannibal's arms and legs off, that dude just pissed me off when he ate that woman's hand, she was fucking hot too. God, that movie is so fucking good. I am getting that shit on DVD the day it comes out and watch it on shrooms.

It was an amazing movie. I don't feel like writing a review, but I need to say this: this is one of the rare movies that is full of sex and violence because it makes a good movie, not because it attracts viewers. Usually you get this one sex scene with a girl swinging her ass and breasts all over the screen, with some rap music playing in the background so that all the horny teenagers in the crowd will drool and say it was a good movie. Usually they include gun fights, severe beatings, car chases and expolsions because big sweaty football fans with hairy backs find them to be cool.

Here, it was completly different. Look at the scene where Marv was fucking Goldie. It was very sexy, but I didn't feel aroused by it. Why? Because that was not the fucking point of it! Or when that crazy chinese ninja bitch kills 6 people in 3 seconds, I didn't get the usual fake hollywood adrenalin that is to movies what McDonald's is to food, but a true and genuine intese feeling.

    Good movie. Very good.

    P.S

While that scene was indeed great (and the way he just kept on smiling...), shouldn't you be more pissed off at the fact that he ate like five other women?

I thought it was such a great movie. I heard it was filmed entirely on blue-screen. I loved the rain, the grey effect, the comic-book feel to it.

The whole film-noir, detective story feel to it is awesome.

Too bad the copy i watched wasn't the clearest. Oh well, that's the price for watching it in the comfort of your living room.
