In Untying the Knot I definetly remember (havn't heard it in a while) hearing some trey/phish sounds. Looking Glass (one of the few i like) i think has some licks that sound alot like trey and also possibly the Wake Up rework

A lick here and there is a tip of the hat. I hear Kang licks from other folks now days.
Jez, that Phishiness is what ushered in a new cheese following, and kept some of the oldtimers away.

Sol-Sol, I'm hearing good about the new panic line up. Not enough to get me to fork over the bucks, but enough to hope they can grow musically again.
It appears I'm saving for Winetr Carnival and whatever other SCI show Colorado will have.

Anyone catch Kang and Chris Berry yet?
people who saw the show were frothing at the mouth.

saw Kyle, Keith and Billy over the weekend at Rebel Alliance Jam 5.
had a chance to talk to Billy, who is looking forward to being an individual (that sounded like a practised line to me) He does have the girls to hang out with and the man paid his dues.
So aside from an occasional guest sit in, I kind of expect him to hermit.
Jillian was on fire, too that night.
Kyle would do well in an improv jazz funk outfit (and I think that's what his projects do)

just my 2 cents.....i really am excited about panic's new line-up. the shows this fall were great...lots of smiles on stage, smaller crowds...the songs have gotten a lot longer again, a lot of the jamming that hasnt been there the past few years is back. jimmy herring is just an amazing musician. its nice to see him getting some more recognition, and the band seems genuinely thrilled to have him on board. i am eagerly anticipating hearing the new material they are writing together....i always did love their songs.....

^^ yeah, but they were devolving into Whitebread Panic even then.

    Kyle projects:
He seems to sit in everywhere....
look for Remarkable Elba Kramer (note, he loooooooooooves wordplay and palindromes)
and a solo album & Feb tour, including Wyo.

i really liked "Untying the Knot" and its supporting tour. then again, i'm a big Phish head, and maybe thats why i dug it so much.....i do remember saying that "kang reminded me of Trey" on that night (Dec 03, 2003). but to me, thats good, very good.
