It sounds to me like CFIDS, or chronic fatigue immune deficiency syndrome. This is an autoimmune disease and is closely related to fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. There are really no tests and it's only diagnosed after everything else has been ruled out, but there are some diagnostic criteria for the disease. It's very real, and not the same thing as "laziness", depression, and is not "all in your head" as was once thought. Some of the other things they rule out before making a diagnosis of CFIDS are Lyme Disease, lupus, depression, fibromyalgia, sleep disorders, and anemia, meaning these all share common symptoms. I suspect I have CFIDS and am in exactly the same boat as you. It is very hard. Some of the things that go along with CFIDS include the following: *Extreme fatigue with onset following a stressful event, infection, or illness such as the flu or mono *Unrefreshing sleep *Headaches of a new type or severity *Chemical sensitivities to perfumes, cigarette smoke, and strong chemical odors *Post-exertion fatigue that doesn't go away for hours or days after strenuous activities *Brain fog, forgetfulness, confusion And the list goes on. Not everyone has all these symptoms, but they are common to the disease. Please continue to seek help and don't allow ANYONE, be it a doctor, friend, or acquaintance, tell you it's a mental thing or sheer laziness. Having one autoimmune disease greatly increases the chances of getting another one, and there are over 100 diseases in this category, so you'll definitely want to get this checked out. Other possibilities are adrenal fatigue, candida albicans infection, food allergies/sensitivities (which affect about 80% of the unsuspecting population), and in rare cases, certain cancers. Fatigue is a symptom of many, many diseases and disorders, both mental and physical, so please follow up with your doctor.
I understand how you feel. I think it's just depression for me, I sleep atleast 12 hours a day, then i wake up, feel like crying, and try to go back to bed. Maybe find something to motivate you to wake up ealier, sometimes the more you sleep, the sleepier you get(or should i say groggy). Maybe ask your doctor if it could be something mental. I hope you get it all worked out.
