i was heating up a nut yesterday on a tie rod with a small mapp torch and the client distracted me enough for me to forget it was hot

ended up with a blister right on the meaty part of thumb because i grabbed it for a second and it took too long for my brain to get the heat signal

when it kills the nerve endings before the brain knows why.... i hate that. i grabbed a pan as a kid (we were making lunch at the homeless shelter, big pan of garlic bread, i tried to pull it closer to put garlic butter on it.) luckily it was just a fingertip, but i heard the sizzle before i knew what had happened.

saw this meme, made me laugh.

scrapping a car today and wasnt thinking again...placed the socket on a hose connection to zip off the nut (using my new favourite milwaukee cordless impact tool) and POW....hose explodes in my face....i closed my eyes and turned quick but still got blasted with a/c chemicals and dye....had to rush home looking like a flourescent green bank robber ...hit the shower (and the clothes washer)

a lot of it went up my nose ..seems to have washed off ...my beard was all green in the spots that are normally white but looks normal now...just my eyes seem a bit cloudy hopefull its just from holding them open in the shower water

I totally screwed up my league race. Qualified 2nd and told myself don't fire up the hill in turn 2 and that's exactly what happened. Hit the brakes, started wheel hopping and I went straight off. 2nd - 16th. Had several other moments but admin had no cautions on so no chances to catch up. Ended up racing back to 9th. Totally disappointed I'd put in hours and hours into practicing. Just didn't realise how much speed I was carrying. =[

I had a guy follow driving the wrong way on the road before. Like cars swerving out the way as they drive to him. It was like something out of an action movie. He REALLY felt the need to catch up with me. He almost hit several people. When he did catch up at a red light he rolled down his window and pointed a pistol at me while he yelled about me being a "faggot" and "pussy". I guess the shock on my face was enough for him because he said "yeah I thought so" and speed off still in the wrong side of traffic until he swerved into my lane in front of me.

Ever since then I am very careful on the road. All that I can think that I did was to start before this he was already driving like an ass and he cut me off. I thew my arms in the typical "what the hell" pose I guess you would call it but it was really only for me I guess. I then switched lanes and passed him. He was not meant to see it but I suppose he did.

This was my post race interview. =p
So I wrote this kind of like how they talk at the end of races, so I'm using a lot of NASCAR terminology and words lol. We kinda do this for fun, race rundowns etc.

Driver of the No. 13 Mtn. Dew Chevrolet Silverado speaks about her race week @ Sonoma Raceway:

“Not the greatest road racer by any means but I spent a lot of time practicing this week trying to get my head around it. Doesn’t help that we are given a setup specifically designed to run at Watkins Glen and with the right handers at The Glen, I really thought this truck would turn right a lot easier than it did. You see it on tv, hit the curbs to turn but that wasn’t happening in the trucks, you hit those curbs and you’re literally on two wheel for half the lap it’s ridiculous.

We managed a 1:14.9 in late practice and backed it up with 14.8 in qualifying, managing to qualify in second and on the pace laps I told myself “don’t you go firing up the hill on the first lap and over run that corner” and so off the initial green, I put my foot down and of course, cardinal sin, I overshot the turn up the hill quite considerably.

Yeah the moment I touched the brakes to slow down that was it, wheel hopping up the hill, on the marbles, dirty line, couldn’t woe up, couldn’t woe down, thought about slapping her into 1st but decided to go off course so I didn’t wreck the field in the first 10 seconds, ended up coming back on track in 16th and just from there, mistake after mistake trying to get around the back markers. Like I get it, I really do, we are racing for positions back here but honestly, when we are running 3 seconds faster a lap I just think your best option is to let us through, but there ain’t any blue overtake flags in this sport, it’s as raw and as rough as a motorsport is going to get. I mean if it were me back there, holding up the fast ones, I’d move out of the way in the first laps, but I guess blocking the road also works as my impatience showed and the results back that up.

From that initial lap I had work to do and getting through some wrecks helped but I’d burn the tires off only after a few laps trying to make up time, the zero full course yellows really spread the field out too, once you made a mistake that was it, that was end of your race. Disappointed for sure, but I guess top 10s are the races you keep, I’m happy with 9th and a top 10 on the road course, but we had a top 3 truck today, no doubt about it. It’s disappointing.”

On the point standings after three rounds:

“Seventh in points, it’s not all bad there, with the 4 drop out races, your top 10’s do count, just not the start to the season we were hoping for. Wrecked out @ Pocono after having a solid top 5 truck, wrong lane on a GWC @ Michigan and now this.. and Daytona next week. Who knows. I’ve advertised for a drafting buddy for Daytona, I just need to find a few folks to run around, I’m completely confident in my superspeedway racing abilities, it’s the other 20 plus guys I’ll be racing around that I’m not confident with.”

Regarding the rest of the season, first win looming?

“Haha, throughout the first three rounds, we have a top 5 truck and team as a minimum I feel. We ran top 5 at Pocono and top 5 at Michigan we just never got those results, I’ll pull my head in though, we’ll get those finishes back. There’s some fast cats in this championship, I’ve been running with a few of the fellas in American races and these guys have been racing on this platform for several years whereas I’m still in my first 3 months. I’ll get ‘em eventually, no doubts about it.

First win, well, I don’t know. I’d love to say Daytona but I have no idea how that’s going to turn out, usual wreck fest they tell me. This is a weak part of schedule as far as I’m concerned, some boring tracks coming up and I’m not sure yet where we’ll see that win, or if.. but I think we’ll be close at Loudon or Fontana.”

Catch next weeks DE-AT-CH Truck Series next Thursday @ 2030 live from Daytona International Speedway.
