Well first of all, I'd just like to point out that you've changed your story. Originally you said: And then you said: You're expecting us to believe that you hid under a blanket and snuck back into your own country. If it were this easy to hide illegal things under blankets in the back seat of a car don't you think a lot more people would be doing this? Of course not, because the border patrol officer would literally have to be blind to miss a human being lying down in the back of a car. Even if you were telling the truth I'd still be disappointed in humanity, because if you're Father genuinely believes that illegally bringing their child in and out of another country for the sole purpose of buying knives and cigars is a good idea.... I can't even finish the sentence without getting carried away.
You make a very good point. On the other hand if the immigrants are poor people, extortion is not profitable.
he specifically said that he wasn't trying to hide, he was just sleeping. and i'm pretty sure he never said that he was being illegally brought across borders or that the sole purpose of the visit was cigar and knife shopping.

I have a passport, flashlight and a shovel. I am not any good with direction so you had best have that covered...........We could end up in Kansas if you leave it to me. I love a good adventure, ready?
All this talk about Mexico and i just watched a show about called narco bling on nat geo about the cartels, makes me really wanna go back there! Havent been since 2010
I don't understand all the Mexico bashing. It´s a wonderful place aside a few border towns I'd probably rather be there. Yes, you can sneak in, but I'm like 90% sure you can still get in with one of the newer 'enhanced' drivers licenses. You could last year. But you could sneak in, they don't search every vehicle, Bolero was being completely unrealistic.
That just reminded me of the scene from UP in Smoke where he eats the tacos and then gets the runs...."Come one ice cream!!!!"
How is it unrealistic stating that a border patrol officer would have to be blind to miss a human being lying down in the back seat of a car? I could understand it being unrealistic if I said something along the lines of "Oh, well lets just hide 30 pounds of cocaine under the blanket, chances are that won't be suspicious at all!".
Well that's not an unrealistic statement per se, just that saying that it couldn't happen, when it happens hundreds/thousands of times per month is slightly naive about the toughness of border security. I've crossed the border numerous times and it's only tough on arbitrary occasions.
It's all a misunderstanding. Dude says "I was under the blanket, in the back." You imagine one scene, while the actual scene may have been different than the one you're imagining in your mind. For instance, can't you imagine a situation where the border patrol agents simply weren't concerned that day? Or that the windows on the car were tinted in the back, so that it would have taken an extra effort to look back there? Maybe his father's demeanor was so relaxed as to pre-suppose innocence, and a clear conscience. There are innumerable scenarios, given the limited amount of information any of us except the one posting can verify. Therefore, this on-going argument is silly. It reveals a preference to seek a reason to argue, over inconsequential things, with a view to what? "Exposing a farce"? "Finding out a mistruth"? "Ferreting out a mole amongst us"? (I saw that in a movie once,,"Smiley's People", with Alec Guiness) Balderdash, poppycock, and ripe festeroons,,
