It just seemed so Lab Rat-esque. As if "Trump Supporters" were some kind of missing link. It warms my heart to see old fashioned methods applied to today's events.
Your definition of propaganda vs. advertisement isn't correct. Propaganda is the spreading of non objective information to help or hurt an institution, person, country, etc. Advertisements are meant to promote products in an effort to get you to buy them. Yes, limiting Russian influence in our elections by monitoring false stories, etc. on Facebook is censorship. So what? You do realize there are positive values to some types of censorship. For example Hip Forums is censored.
Yes advertisements attempt to get you to buy a product. But what institution do they help? So what if non Russian things are censored? We do that all the time here at Hip Forums. Facebook is a private enterprise, not governmental, they can censor anything they want. In the case of Facebook they decide what is acceptable unless the government puts them under some sort of regulation...which it hasn't. Here at Hip forums the owners are the main source of censorship in consultation with the mods and members.
The company that make the profit advertises to sell goods. The as agency sells its service. They aren't political or religious institutions. The government also censors all the time. They have that right as long as the censorship is for good reason such as national or state defense or public health or welfare. You can't shout fire in a crowed room if there isn't a fire.
So let's see. Before anybody else got a chance to see the report, Barr came out with his four page "summary", which he later explained was not really a summary. The Mueller team had prepared its own summaries, but those were not released. The "summary" stated that Trump wasn't exonerated on the obstruction charge, but on that basis Trump and his Amen chorus (including fans on this site, who do a victory dance and say "About that Mueller Report...Nanny, nanny boo boo") . Barr has already given Trump a copy so he can prepare his defense to the report that "exonerates" him. Then he releases the redacted report, but before doing so, gets on TV thirty minutes before and mischaracterizes it. Later, when questioned by Congress about it, says that Mueller and/or his team took issue with some things in the report and got "snitty" about it, although he wouldn't say what those were. Now, when Members of Congress are asking Mueller to appear and testify, Barr drags his feet, and now trump is saying "No way. Nothing to see here. Case closed. Nobody is testifying about anything having to with the report, cuz Executive Privilege covers anything I say it does, and I say it covers everything. What country is this? I always thought Congress had oversight powers and that once people had been allowed to testify about matters, as they did during the Mueller investigation, Executive Privilege had been waived. And we're supposed to sit still for this cuz the economy's good and the Dems shouldn't be seen as "over reaching. Anyhow, how "about that Mueller Investigation..."? Nearly 400 former prosecutors, including prominent Republicans as well as Democrats, have signed a letter stating that the findings of the Mueller report contain evidence of indictable counts of obstruction, and the main reason Trump isn't being charged is that the Justice Department has a policy against indicting sitting Presidents. Nearly 400 prosecutors sign letter saying Trump would be charged with ... Trump would have faced obstruction charge if not president: ex-prosecutors That, of course, could be done after Trump leaves office, if the statute of limitations hasn't run out--which depends on whether he's re-elected of not! This will give him even more reliant on his buddy Vlad to come through for him again, and to charge election fraud once again. Otherwise, the only recourse is impeachment. Quite a different picture from the original spin doctoring by the OP.
And now, the Prez has asserted executive privilege over the entire Mueller report, already released in redacted form.Trump asserts executive privilege over full Mueller report as Democrats vote to hold Attorney General Bill Barr in contempt U.S. democracy is like the frog in the pan of water. If the frog is put into boiling water, it will immediately jump out but If it’s placed instead in cold water that is slowly warmrd up, it won’t be aware of the gradual heat change, and it will be cooked to death.
While I appreciate the meme, the decision to release is not in Trump's hands. Sure, it seems to play his way, but we need to blame the right people.
It's been stated repeatedly that national security issues and security practices that might be revealed in the document are not to be released. It's bureaucratic procedure and Trump can't compel them to do anything about it. If he did, no doubt the democrats would drag him into court for violating protocol. Pretty easy to see why he reneged on exposing his taxes. As people discovered with Obama, much to their surprise, the president is not a "king" and can't just wave a sceptre and have things happen. At the moment he's playing a shrewd rules game and all the ranting from the media and democrats won't alter that. It has taken a couple of years, but even the orange monkey is capable of learning. I predict the democrats are about to have a much harder time with Trump.
LOL, the whole idea we have rule of law anymore and Donald Ducks cares about the law is absurd. The courts are now compelling people to even testify against themselves, and the Duck knows all he has to do is a song and dance to reassure the public that they still have someone in charge.
