I didn't know you smoked mamaK (or you Odon) I thought I was one of few smokers on hip. I take breaks from smoking weeks at a time and I never get too depressed, like I crave a little but I don't get jitters. However I do have a problem with food when I get a craving, almost like my body isn't busy enough if I'm not smoking. It's not too bad tho. Just wondering mamaK, how long have you been a smoker?!

Thank goodness I'm not a smoker. My little sister has tried to quit numerous times and can't seem to stick with it. Lately though, with the price of cigarettes, she says she's going to seriously try. She was always used to getting a pack when she went to the gas station to fill her car up. Now she gets a pack of gum instead. Well, at least last week she did. I'm not sure if she made it through another week. ;)

Hang in there KC, your lungs and wallet will thank you.

I've been a moderate smoker for over ten years.
I too take breaks, and usually don't feel so bad.
This time has been worse, because I have not cheated.

Yeah, that's why I haven't exactly been gungho on making Daniel quit. He goes incredibly bipolar when he's having withdrawals and god damn...it's like Jekyll and Hyde.

i really wish i that i have never started smoking. I can really feel the damages of it sometimes, when i`m loosing my breath because of the stairs for example. I need to quit this shit! Its making me feel like a granny!
anyway the mother of a friend of mine was a smoker for a very long time and just recently she managed to quit them totally and it all happened very accidentally. She got sick by flew or something and her organism just refused them naturally, she started to feel disgusted and sick just from the smoke around her. She never smoked again

    I've never smoked cigs, ever.
The idea of someone getting rich by selling me sthg that could kill me, makes me sort of angry almost.
Altho I disagree with the smoking ban in pubs etc

Usually, 2 days after quitting...I have something or other I need to fix or buy. I start punching tables, walls, electronics, etc.

I almost fucked up the keyboard I'm typing on once. :p:confused:

That's exactly how I feel about quitting. :D Having that cigarette break (and KNOWING you're going to have it) is such a life saviour sometimes, it's that light in the end of a tunnel thing. Keeps me sane when sitting in a stinky library for 10 hours a day writing..

And drinking coffee or tea without a cigarette is just wrong. :(

Anyhow, sorry KC :p How's the non-smoking going?

yeah i agree with you on that one. I think in a way its an interference with the free choice of the individual. Everyone has a head on their shoulders to think with and if one wants to poison itself with cigarettes then nobody has the right to disturb this choice

I don't think reasonable levels of sidestream smoke are that bad at all.
It all sounds like a scam to blame the asbestos lung cancers on cigarette smoke.

Its killed the atmospheres in so many pubs and bars in England.
Bars are part of British culture and communities.A shame.

I couldn't believe it when Ireland banned smoking before us.
They're the most laid back, "couldn't give a fuck" about health people in Europe.
Well, most of the ones I've met anyway...

well i would not care less if they ban the smoking here. if i feel the need to smoke i will smoke anyway. the thing that sucks most is that they sell them and still you have no permission to smoke them. and they have risen them so expensive i wont be surprised if the tobacco companies have world domination in a few decades!
