So does anyone actually like Paris Hilton?

i think she's a prisoner of her own persona. that stupid perma-smirk of hers, the inability to have an expression other than that one. wtf? the first time she's ever looked good to me at all was when she was crying in the back of the squad car. she looked human. but i don't want her any more miserable than anyone else.

 

Most of what you're reading here about her is recycled tabloid grade garbage that is seen on the idiot box. How can anyone truthfully say whether or not they like her when our image of her is crafted by the caricature-esque tidbits selected by the mass media whose lifeblood is contrived controversy?

This is probably one of the more rational posts I've read here about her. As far as issues are concerned she is a non-issue and the fact that people in general seem so very taken by the "outrage" of her getting her own way- a general opinion ensured by the various news outlets- is an outrage in and of itself when there are FAR MORE IMPORTANT things to be concerned with.

Unfortunately the government-shill cable "news" entities seem content with distracting us from the matters that directly and adversely affect our lives by feeding us this garbage in a manner that assaults the very concept of objectivity... and the muddled masses comply by obediently whipping themselves into a frenzy about it.
