yeah, i really never see them around here.. i think the only other time ive seen an actual sobriety checkpoint was when i was maybe 10 or 12... drove through it with my mom. i dont understand... last night was crazy out there.. i seen a ton of people pulled over even on the drive home.. fuckin police state! it totally took me by surprise.. it was november 4th, not a holiday weekend or anything and it was a wednesday night. very uncommon for this area. i do see the inspection/tire checks a bit more frequently though... those arent as bad though, as you pass through quickly and usually dont have to even roll your window down. damn im sorry man, didnt mean to get you down about your situation... were you stopped in what was clearly a sobriety checkpoint? i know the one i got caught in they even had a fold up sign that said "sobriety checkpoint" that was resting on the grill of one of the cop cars.. if thats the case, im fairly sure they can have dogs, because in a sobriety checkpoint, the purpose isn't really to check tires and stickers (though they'll get you with that if at all possibe; gotta get that $ for the state), but to get people who are under the influence off the road. but like i said, if you were busted in something that wasn't a sobriety check that had K9s, that is at least some evidence that its purpose isnt just to ensure highway safety, but really to rack up drug busts... which is illegal. and i spent like, half hour at most researching this (not really research; google).. im sure your lawyer knows the ins and outs of this a lot more than me. whatever he is going to argue for you; im sure he has a good reason to do so.. hes definitely got a lot more knowledge on this than me. so dont be too bummed... give him a call and ask him some questions about this- you can never be too informed! i wish you the best- let us know how your situation goes! :cheers2:
