    Screw Mardi Gras.

    I was always there for the city. I mean, it was a wonderful and beautiful example of an old cross-cultural pollination that was preserved (via poverty) for hundreds of years.

    weeks before the water will be pumped out,, 10 feet of water is what there talkin about,,above sea level,, an new orleans is what 2 feet below sea level??


    no thats not catostrophic..

    i dunno,, to me its pretty fuckin sad,, the tsunami went away as quick as it came,, this aint gonna do nuthin but get worse before it gets better...

    im guessin the death toll bein well over 1000,, but they aint sayin,, so who knows,,

    There's a lot of corpses for em to feed on.

    Fighting em back to get the city back --- I dunno.

    Everything that's there'll have been, for months, under a layer of corpse-infested, sewage-laced water with a wonderful scum of toxic effluent.

    wow, how very devastating....
    and i do feel that other countries she open their hearts and wallets.....why should we shoulder it all.....i agree we have the resources but we don't have enough...things are already bad enough in our economy.

    Seemingly the worst case scenario happened even though it wasn't a direct hit...not sure if it would have.

    damn, I'm watching cnn and apparantly people are car jacking those trying to drive out and there has been some shootings...I guess that is (was?) one of the most violent cities in the US

    well the corps of engineers are bringing in concrete barriers and giant sandbags, so they aren't giving up...not sure what good it will do, but they are still pumping too
