it just sounded to me like you were including anyone who opposed soaringeagle (though i may have completely misread your posts) and i just felt like that was a sweeping observation.

 

and it wasnt meant as a defense... more to use myself as an example and say that i dont feel like anyone here actually does the things you say.

 

I was referring specifically to this thread and to those who have used it as an opportunity to do nothing more than slag off a single forum member. It was not my intent to make sweeping generalisations, only observations based on what I was reading.

If you still find it difficult to believe anyone here actually does the things I'm referring to, here's an example from earlier in the thread:

"Well, Soaring Eagle has just proved that you will find a link to his signature in the encyclopedia under "ignorance".

This completely unprovoked, unwarranted, juvenile side-swipe was an opening sentence of an opening post.

This is ridiculous. I hate it when people make sweeping generalizations and then hide behind the veil of mystery by "not naming names". If you have a problem with the way people are behaving, if it is offending you or (in your opinion) negatively impacting your experience here, tell them. The whole, "some people" generalization is obnoxious because how is any one member supposed to know who you are talking about? Who is behaving that way; because you seem pretty convinced that these "some people" have malicious intent towards SE. But you could easily be interpreting malicious intent from someone who has none, and then they are left in the dark wondering if it's really them who is being spoken about.

Is it somehow more nasty to directly confront those who bother you/you disagree with? Would things be all fine and dandy if instead of mentioning SE by name, I made broad generalizations, mentioned "some nameless people", so that everyone could then wonder if it's really them who is the problem?

Then if anyone defends the "some people" you have accused, it can be brushed off as "I didn't name any names". Really?

I do not loathe SE, nor do I spend my time directly trying to cause him emotional distress or pain. I do not target him nor do I attack him; I generally disagree with him and make it clear that I do. Why is that such a bad thing?

But, perhaps I am not one of those unlucky "few people" who you have been mentioning throughout the thread. I wouldn't know, frankly, but I very well could be.

 

As in.. it's ALWAYS the exact same group of people who start & continue the SE crap. I'm not going to point fingers ( if its names you're looking for) the ones in it know who they are. Why am I not going to mention names in this particular case? Because it seems to me you are looking for an argument which I would rather not partake in.

 

I don't think SL is looking for a fight at all, I think she's genuinely curious and looking for answers/clarification. If you want to call someone out, do it the right way and direct it to them. This group of people, I can guarantee you, will not recognize themselves as such unless you say so. Not to mention other people are going to get paranoid and assume they are lumped with this "group of people", because it's so vague and general that many people could convince themselves that they are one of the perpetrators.

If you didn't want to start another argument, if you didn't want to get stuck in the "drama" or contribute to this thread, then you should have read and moved on. Those types of posts just add more confusion and speculation, without accomplishing anything. No one will be able to take advice that isn't directed to them, because how are they supposed to know it's directed to them if you don't say so?

 

*sigh* seriously that wasn't even the main point of my comment, so it is not important for me to expand on that. All of you can float around here saying w/e the hell you want, well so can i. If i do not wish to expand on that particular comment than i wont.

My point was that this thread was stupid and childish for singling out a single member and I do not agree with that. Since I think it is wrong I am not going to be a hypocrite by pointing out the clique around here. If they don't know who they are than it is not my fault that they are completely oblivious. Thank you for being SL spokes person, I appreciate it.

 

pat&chaos you weren't here when this all came out, we were so know what was happening and how he was treating people. so it may seem like clicky but i'm alone in my ideas about SE, I have my own thoughts on him. atm, i appriciate that he seems to have calmed down a lot and also he seems to be a lot more open to other methods of dreading. so I just wanna say, I'm noticing your changes SE. And i agree, this same old fight should stop. I know I said something at the start of this thread asking why does he post..that was just after he said he doesn't think about what he says and since a internet forum is soley based on reading just seemed a lil silly. But SE I think you actually can sometimes put a lot of thought into what you say. Some of your posts can be realli helpful and then some can be a lil uncalled for. I think we should never stop learning, but as time goes on it's harder to change our ways...

You have been agreeing with plenty of people in this thread, and that doesn't make you their spokes person. SL and I happen to have similar opinions on the matter (evident by this and past threads), so therefore I can imagine where she is coming from.

 

Your right Lux i wasn't here back in the day when a lot of the stuff was going on. *arguments and such* and i'm not by any means justifying anything hes said, but I don't agree with these threads that are pointing fingers at a single member.

I would be doing this if it was any one else. Lets just say you (lux) * for example* for some reason people began making threads dedicated to you just to make you look foolish. These threads being made KNOWING that a lot of people have problems with you and will start slandering your name with things from the past. I would just as fast say the exact same words I've been saying all along. I don't even know SE and I've maybe talked to him once since I've been here. I just don't think its right is all.

 

and you can really chill out right about now because this is irrelevant. If you want to fight with someone you can go elsewhere because I'm not going to do it with you.

 

Why are you assuming I am looking for a fight? Are you truly convinced that this is my sole purpose of being here, of saying what I think and for participating in this thread? Because it's not. You seem incapable of responding to my actual questions or truly engaging with me in any sort of discussion (re: not fight), and instead get very defensive and passive aggressive. I am not looking to fight you.

I am perfectly "chilled out", and it isn't irrelevant. You brought it up, for Christ's sake, I was just responding to something you said that I thought was uncalled for and incorrect. You have been doing that this entire thread (responding to things you find uncalled for), so certainly, that cannot be a crime.

 

I would not like a thread like that chaos..I spose we have to open our hearts. this thread was unnessacary. I wouldn't like it at all if it was made about mee. you have a kind spirit chaos.

i find it funny that addicted to chaos seems the least addicted to chaos
the chaos addicts are odviosly the ones trying to continue the chaos at all costs
and poor addictedtochaos is the 1 saying pleaee let the chaos end

its like trying to quite drugs.. if u dont want to be on the drug ya cant have the drug around ya

so if u dont want to be addicted to chaos (or drama) step away from it..or run and hide
