Soccer World Cup 2018

American football is just as boring as "other" football.

Basketball, hockey--and, lately, baseball is starting to grow on me.

Still can't watch baseball on TV though. Has to be live.

tbh I love watching snooker. It's so quiet and boring that i find it very peaceful.

 

That's how I feel about golf... Except I get drunk, bet on it, then yell at the competing golfers "miss a putt!"

So much fun!

 

I am actually a solid putter. I can out putt anyone. Bring on Tiger Woods. But I'm not good at anything else lol. I've played a few times. Anyway I don't mind watching golf either. Or lawn bowls. And I get really into curling for some reason lol.

I think I just like strategic games like that.

 

I like baseball. I dont really get into the sport itself that much, but I just appreciate the all american culture of it. I like going to a game and getting a hot dog and a beer and sweating my ass off in the heat while I watch men in super weird pants knock some balls around. Such a wholesome slice of americana

Oh and the ice cream in the miniature baseball helmets? You cant beat it

 

I've tried watching soccer but just can't figure out what the hype is all about. Ninety minutes of kicking a ball around a field and the final score is 0-0. I'd riot in the stands too after wasting time and money on that.

Where I'm from the only sport is college basketball.

 

I hope Modric wipes that annoying smirk off Messi's face tonight

 

You know what helped convert me from a kid playing Barbies to a young adult obessed with hoops?

Americans like hockey. Soccer is basically the same idea. Two teams try to score on a goal which is guarded by a keeper. The score will probably be low like 1-0 or 2-1. Soccer is hockey with the ice yet Americans watch one and not the other because they say soccer is slow and boring.

You do you though. People have their opinions and it's fine.

 

Hockey is much faster and people get slammed against the wall.

Also, fighting...

That being said, hockey is still a distant second place to hoops for me.

Got into the soccer world cup last time, i dont really know why, fuck this game is boring, Australia vs Denmark last night, 1 all draw, couldnt finish watching half of it, yawn, screw this shit.

I think i'm done, soccer is just too friggin boring

 

Australia now holds one of the longest streaks in WC for not winning a game. I don't feel sorry them, Australians always bugged me with their international sports. I'm sure it's the same as a lot of countries but Australia to me was always renown for band wagon supporters where kinda like VG here they don't have an interest but then the world cup comes along and all of a sudden they're all fans and have opinions.

Only team I support for Australia was the Wallabies because I worked around rugby union.

Its like tour De France time, 20,000 people all of a sudden start riding bikes to work lol.

 

Having a seperate Oceania category was a joke. There should be half a dozen asian teams whose countries are soccer mad that should be at this event.

Should be 64 teams to start off with if its really a world cup.

We probably shouldnt be in this in the first place

 

And when you're an American and you play a sport only played in America and you win the title you're all of a sudden "world champs" lol.
