You are missing my point. Pinocchio was NOT an advocate of true freedom. I could CLAIM that the reason I beat my dog is because I LOVE him. Doesn't make it true. Proclaiming and being is entirely different. Motivation comes from pleasure in some area or another. Whether it be nationalism (yuck) or individualism. It can come from anywhere as long as it "stimulates". You choose both, ok. In a perfect world, that may work. But, liberty is a lot more applicable than complete equality. I would love both as well, but people should be free first and foremost.
ONLY IF it is voluntary. Americans already obtain a host of services from private providers. There is every reason to think that other services, from postal delivery to education to road building and maintenance, could be provided more efficiently and at lower cost by the private sector. We should support all moves to reduce and repeal taxes because taxes are obtained immorally, by force. The income tax is particularly a violation, since it penalizes productivity and forces all of us to expose our private affairs to government snoopers. We had no true income tax before 1914 and America prospered. Replacing the income tax with voluntary methods for financing services should be our goal, and we should begin right now.
most of our tax dollars goes to education, not postal service, i shudder to think what societyd be liek without a public school system prospered???we were still 3rd world and a shithole at that point, poor people starving, while the superrich get richer, very little interms of labour laws, no health care what so ever, no proctection for any nonwhite citizens, we didnt begin to prosper until imcone tax was imposed and fed govt got bigger (i dont want a very big govt, i jsut want redistribution, but big govts are successful)...socialism saved this nation, under FDR.it works
its working now in the kabutz's in israel, the communes in ny state...this dream is a reality.but freedom means nothing without equality, because its not really fredom, was slave society (with its low taxes and whatnot) better than post slave society under say Truman or FDR, no? equality brings freedom, not the other way around
FDR and Soviet Russia were "glory days" and Hitler was an example of a "free society of individuals" killing the masses. Wow... learn something new everyday.
not necesarily but hitler was a freemarket advocate, he beileved in freedoms for all those he felt were "deserving" in my mind the "glory days" were when Christiania was in its prime, when people resisted injustice (late 60s to early 70s) not FDR but u have to admit things were better under great society(johnson) than slave society thru 1914, or whatever date u previously stated
all aspects were better economic freedom doesnt mean anything, its rhetoic, its something out of a bush speech... one of the biggest differences is where the burden fell, regardless of rate, great society burden on those who have enough less some and still eat, 1914 burden on those who cant afford it like think about it like this the difference in living btwn someone whos makign 1 and 1.5 mil is vitrually nothing, but the standard of living btwn someone making 520thou and 20thou is like night and day, so why overtax the people making 1 and 1.5 its never really ur money anyway, it doesnt have ur name on it, its the governments, they have a right and duty to redistribute
and most americans, i would say, seing how liberatarians(4give me if i mispelled it) make up about 1% of the pop., dont mind paying taxes in exchange for protection, in addition many people dont midn giving up alittle economic freedom if it means children wont go hungry
Neither do I, but private charities alone generate much more efficient help and dollars than the failure of the public welfare system. Plus, with private charities there is MUCH LESS (although not completely) abuse of the system. There is more room for checks and balances than a LEVIATHAN government.
public charities fail because its in teh hands of republicans, under FDR or LBJ that statement would be completely false, but i mean that last fact, the part about abuse, is an opinion, and not in fact a...fact...shit.gnite...
