I think the PR is forgetting one REALLY FUCKING HUGE thing that COMPLETELY changed sexual attitudes and mores in the last 60 years, and has had more to do with "sexual promiscuity" than ANY of the ridiculous conspiracy claims he holds onto, and is probably the single most influential thing in human sexuality since......well ever; THE BIRTH CONTROL PILL!!!! That has had the greatest influence and impact on human sexual behavior than ANYTHING ELSE IN HISTORY.
And by history, you mean history as written in history books? Out there in the wide world humans have known of several different forms of birth control, long before the medical age. What do you think about human sexual behavior outside of and before colonization?
I'll try to be nice, but really, that comment is just rife with ignorance. By history I mean since humans first walked upright and made the connection between fucking and having babies. Of course there have always been various birth control methods with rather poor results and certainly nowhere near the 90%+ rates of prevention with the pill. I can promise you, all those various methods certainly didn't do a whole lot to promote promiscuity, certainly not to the degree that the "Pill" has.
I never did see anything wrong with condoms...they work. I think the pill may actually lead to more pregnancy in some cases b/c it encourages risky behavior especially when the chick doesn't know how to take it, or lies about taking it etc. I don't understand women who will get the pill, say they are taking it, and then a bag from the pharmacy is found later, unopened and NONE of the pills have been taken
All of that is completely irrelevant when talking about the change in sexual attitudes and behavior after the pill was introduced, something which the majority of HF members really wouldn't know much about considering most were born long after that "revolution" had taken place. I'm talking about the paradigm shift that the "Pill" elicited. Do I dare even mention the timing/correlation between the development of "the Pill" and the rise in the women's equal rights movement? For the first time in history women now had the capability to be almost completely in control of their own reproduction. Condoms were/are generally a "man" thing, and prior methods of birth control were so unreliable that they never really did afford woman the luxury of "care free" sex. It would be nice if some older female members who remember what I'm talking about could give their impressions of the differences the birth control pill brought about concerning a woman's sense of sexuality and sexual freedom. A philosophy professor I had once asked us the first day of class what two "pills" we thought had forever and irrevocably changed the world. His answer; LSD and the birth control pill. One blew away all prior notions of mental health/religion/spirituality/perception and the other blew away centuries upon centuries of sexual repression, lack of freedom and reproductive choice for women. Both sparked major shifts in thought that still pervade and shape attitudes today.
People shouldn't sleep w people they can't trust... or trust people they don't know well. In any case, I hate the pill because it increases your chance of a heart attack and I already know that's how I'm gonna die so don't need to be trying to make it sooner rather than later.
Sex brings about procreation and love bonding, and is probably the most important thing we'll ever do. An obsession? It's the biggest influence over human behavior after we have food and shelter. Rome fell because of Barbarian invasions and mercury poisoning, and std rates aren't any lower in more conservative societies. If you guys can't balance your own lives, then take up soccer or something, but leave other people who want to bang alone you nosy, whiney, idiots.
Soccer? Thats the most boring sport there is, besides golf. How the fuck either sport is so big around the world is beyond me. And surprised no one has combined the two, watch a whole bunch of rich white guys and one token half black half asian guy who loves extra marrital affairs....kick around a soccer ball 300m and try get it on the green....bore everyone to death
I think this is kind of lame, he wasn't criticizing people having sex or bothering people who want to bang at all. He made a specific point you choose not to take seriously. You clearly do not understand shit of the real football sport :sunny:
Real football? Rugby league? Where every guy ends up with a head that looks like a picasso. Not the american thing where they are like, oh i have to wear a helmet to protect my pretty face so my boyfriend still loves me. Or soccer where some guy on the other side of the field waves his hand and 100m away some guy falls over trying go get a penalty, ooh oh he slapped me, ref ref look at me , ow that stings
No not rugby, what you guys call soccer You don't need a helmet for proper football And yes, the 'schwalbe' is a disgrace. That's why when it is spotted as such they do get a penalty but not in their favor
