It's absurdly long there's no dialogue bjork made the music the whole thing is just...ritualistic.... after I watched it...I moved with grace.
he also did this series of films called the cremaster those were all very bizarre. I like that kind of stuff.
Movies? Doesn't watching movies involve requiring 2-3 hours spans of free time?? ... Why are males turning into cinema snobs lately? Seems like every boy with a webcam is becoming more 1337 about what he watches, or maybe boys just watch more films in general than girls. *shrugs* Some of my favourite movies include: - Splitting Heirs - Robin Hood Men in Tights - It's a Wonderful Life - Momento - The Last Unicorn - Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark - Evil Dead 2 - Dr. Strangelove There are lots more, I tend to take a shining for B rated movies and I love the cheese.
its a wonderful life has an interesting plot device (in that the protagonist literally does not exist for a very large chunk of the movie) but i've had to watch it so many times over the years that i have trouble enjoying it every time anymore. its my moms favorite movie, watch it virtually every christmas eve i will admit to absolutely adoring white christmas, though:blush5:
i'm really interested in hearing what you think of these movies, maybe what they're about, and if you can find a subtitled clip or something maybe getting to see a few minutes or a trailer of them.:cheers2: thanks for contributing. one of my hopes was to learn of some movies i'd not heard of from other countries so i can maybe check them out
Young Frankenstein, mostly because Gene Wilder is one of my favorite actors EVER and I love Mel Brooks movies. Almost Famous- I've always been in love with the idea of life on the road with a band, so this movie is just pretty much my dream played out The Wedding Singer- I love Adam Sandler probably more than any sane person should and I think this is his best movie by far Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind- It's just beautiful all around...I don't normally like Jim Carrey in serious roles, but man...wow Girl, interrupted- About a girl not quite crazy, not quite sane...reminds me of myself
Amelie Eagle Vs. Shark Party Monster High Fidelity Stranger Than Fiction Royal Tenenbaums Rushmore (Any Wes Anderson film, really... ) Marie Antoinette Pride and Prejudice... Paris, Je T'Aime Chocolat
do you meant the recent hitch hikers guide to the galaxy movie with mos def as ford prefect, or do you mean the old BBC miniseries? which monty python movie? there are quite a few. i think i like life of brian best, of what i've seen what is bunty aur bubli? i've not heard of it and would like to know something about it:cheers2:
thats one of the few i haven't seen all the way through. we have it at the dorm library, i'll check it out one of these days. but i really prefer the tv series to the movies usually.
I love punch drunk love, I think I would add that one to my list as well. Some more good films: The Proposition Muriel's Wedding Picnic at Hanging Rock Ghosts of the Civil Dead (Extremely messed up movie about a high security prison starring Nick Cave) Roadkill Paris, Texas Brick City of God (City of Men is also a great television series) Before Night Falls The Monk and the Magician I am going to provide descriptions for these ones because I think they are worth seeing. Raise the Red Lantern - Tense drama about the rivalries between Concubines in a chinese palace. The whole movie is a metaphor for the Tienamen Square massacre and is beautifully and obsessively shot. Directed by Zhang Yimou long before he started making Martial Arts films like Hero. He Died with a Felafal in his Hand - Dark Australian comedy about living in Shared accomodation. All the standard characters on the fringes of society are present - druggies, neat freaks, anarchists, neo-nazis, stoners, crazy russian ex-army guys. I just think its hilarious. The Idiots - I think this film is tremendous. I think its danish. Its a very no-frills film about a bunch of people living in a commune dedicated to "finding the inner spaz". For fun they take a mini bus out on excursions and pretend to be a group of disabled people, while one person acts normal and pretends to supervise them. It sounds idiotic but its incredibly intense. Please get a hold of this movie. Who needs friends when you have movies?
fifth element the birds sunset Blvd. tales of the city... okay so it's a 3 part mini-series.. bite me!
