My bad. Peter Gabriel covered Susanne. Bono covered radically different arrangement. They were both on an album called "Tower of Song a Tribute to Leonard Cohen." Peace Out, Rev J
ditto... 'puff the magic dragon' gets me all day any day... such a sad sad song. 'looks like rain' by the grateful dead, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEUT8T3vrKY&feature=related"]looks like rain
The only time I really cried because of a song was eve of destruction by barry mcguire. I was listening to it one night and just started bawling. It describes the state of the world perfectly, and it's really really sad.
Maybe I'm taking this thread a little to literally, because I've been wracking my brain really trying to find a song that really brings a tear to my eye . There are alot of emotionally charged songs out there- but to really bring a tear to my eye? there are very few - like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6vR-TQ7n68"]YouTube- JUDY COLLINS - "Amazing Grace" with the Harlem Boys Choir 1993 PAX
A song called 'Mercy' by IAMX gets to me Reminds me of a girl I sort of saw for a small while. She basically was my dream girl, and I was just bait. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6Xz20S880I"]YouTube- IAMX - Mercy Seriously, I know everybody puts videos up. If you like good lyrics about obsession and heartbreak- this is your song.
It didn't bring a tear to my eye but I like this song a lot. I like the song's transitions from the melancholy first 3 minutes to the more epic sounding last 3 minutes that reminded me of Black Sabbath a la Vol. 4.
Never fails. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOVwokQnV4M"]YouTube- J.S. Bach - Air on the G String, Sarah Chang
Imaginary Being: I love Placebo I haven't really listened to that song though, I think I'll check it outt.
Hah, in that case Placebo and I love you too They are really great, I could literally name loads of songs, I feel ripping off their discography by only naming one
There are a couple songs that don't outright make me cry, but they're pretty saddening. I could actually name about a billion since I def went through that totally emo phase, but here are a couple that I still actually listen to or just had to name because they're so damn depressing or sweet: Can't Stand Losing You - The Police. (I guess you'd call it lack of confidence, but to go on living doesn't make no sense) I Could Die For You - Red Hot Chili Peppers Sieze the Day - Avenged Sevenfold Gone Away - The Offspring (And it feels like Heaven's so far away) Polar Opposites - Modest Mouse (I'm trying to drink away the part of the day that I cannot sleep away) The Town That You Live In - Sherwood One Headlight - The Wallflowers (That's when they say I lost my only friend, they said she died easy of a broken heart disease)
Aw yay haha. They are great. I could name quite a few songs, but I'm not gonna act like I'm their greatest fan haha, I didn't really start listeninng to them til sorta recently. but they're music is amazingg
