This is ridiculous. Can you provide a valid source for the claim that humans only use 15 neurons. Seriously, 15? Out of the billions in our brains. FIFTEEN? And then maybe explain why we evolved billions of neurons if we only need 15, when efficiency is the name of the evolutionary game?

As for the topic, since experience the wonder that is psilocybin, I've been more open to spirituality. I'm still a staunch naturalist, but I'm looking into some things with more fervor than I have in the past, and a greater desire to see what else is out there. Honestly, I'm not sure how fruitful the search will be, but I'm sure that no matter the outcome I'll be a better person for it. The mushrooms shook up my worldview in a subtle way that is difficult for me to naildown.

As far as I know the Body is a NeuroChemical mess... a prison.

Just your emotions produce drugs in your brain that your body can become addicted to... yes thats right YOUR EMOTIONS.

So In my opinion defintly absolutly lsd and psychedelics can open something profound and powerful to help you break out of "the prison"

Mind you i'm a chicken shit so i'll never try Lsd as a tool

I am bipolar and I must emphatically agree with this.

Only once have I truly felt enlightened, in tune with God, and, in many ways, like God myself. And it was during a manic high.

Knowing doesn't matter when anything is possible.

Hope you dont mind me quoting and referring to this specific bit?

Personally i dont know, haven't read/researched enough yet to comment... still undecided. BUT i would love to know if these experiences, of being in touch with God or other dimensions, is experienced by people with no prior knowledge or preconceptions of God and other dimensions.

That is, i'd like to rule out suggestibility. Is it merely coincidence that other world experiences on psychedelics seem to be experienced by those interested and knowledgable on the subject? Are these trips just a manifestation of prior beliefs and wish full thinking on behalf of the tripper?

I would dearly like to hear about such experiences of God and other dimensions from people who have no prior knowledge, beliefs, even expectations of doing so. Of course finding people with no prior knowledge of God would be difficult lol :D

I know first hand that a drug can induce certain almost specific feelings and hallucinations without suggestibility being responsible for the effects; a few years ago i ingest nytol (diphenhydramine sp?) just to get to sleep. It didnt work for some reason this one night even at the max dose and silly me i took more, then some more, getting a little delerious by now (only realised in retrospect) and ended up taking 600mgs. I had full on visual and auditory hallucinations, the visual one's were just the same as seeing something that was there, there was no distinction; i was seeing spiders, millipedes, an orb of energy amongst other things. It wasnt fun btw.

What freaked me a little is that when i found out later that the dose i took could produce hallucinations, i read in many places that these invariably took the form of insects and a ball of energy.... exactly what i saw. I found this pretty impressive; i took this drug just to sleep and without any knowledge of its effects at high doses i seen what most other people do too... no suggestibility on my part. Repeat this with lsd or some other psychedelic and i think this would add weight to the argument of them being tools to reach other dimensions and God.

Sorry for getting sidetracked i just wanted to illustrate a point. Btw i cant take lsd i literally went insane (drug induced psychosis is what the doctor said) when i last took it over 15 years ago. Shame because i think if you can handle it it's a tool for the mind.

The problem swimbim, is that even if you had a preconceived expectation for experiencing God, or not experiencing God for that matter, you will find yourself suprised when your awareness reaches into it. Becuase it cant be understood, or explained, or anything like that.
When someone realizes divinity it is not from a visual hallucination, it is an experience of transcendental awareness, a kind of awareness that many of us would not have without psychedelics or from meditation.
I mean seriously, what is God, you know? I *know* what it is, it reveals itself to me constantly but I can never say what it is. It is an experience that is different from emotion and normal sensations. Its fucking weird :cheers2:

LSD and psilocybin and the others induce a different state of hallucination than what you described seeing, so I don't think you can truthfully compare an LSD hallucinatory experience to something experienced under the influenced of an antihistamine.

    Not all hallucinogens are psychedelic.

Remember that some people can divine the truth from reading tea leaves. Many can't. Some can take the psychedelic experience, can take ordinary dreams, and discover the meaning there for themselves. Some can't.

How you feel about these people, how deluded you perceive them to be, says more about you than it does them I think.
