Look, if anyone here is looking for an outlet for their adolescent frustration, then try masturbation. Peace activism is hypocrisy, if your motives come out of anger.

And yes, I am upset about the way our world works nowadays. But I do not let my anger CONTROL me, I use it as a drive towards positivity.

That's selfish. What good is that doing the world? Martin Luther King wouldn't have gotten shit done by just not worrying about racism because it might "stress him out". Activism does work. Those are the people getting things changed. You're a waste of space if you are doing nothing. I'm sorry that you are so unmotivated, but don't try to bring the rest of us down to your level of pathetic, ineffective existence.

Talk about hateful. Green thumb, just from your posts alone I gather you have some issues. You are not comming off as a hippy right now. More like a dictator telling everyone they are wrong.

In the days of MLK yes, it did work. But today, honestly, people just don't care and neither does the government. All I can say is that you are not very peaceful.

Yes, my god man, what is wrong? You don't even know me, and you've already laid down a TON of judgement on me. What right do you have to do that? Since in your mind I am an 'unmotivated pathetic ineffective' person, what can I possibly say to that? How can I debate FACTS unbiasedly, when all I get in return is hate? You're the real hypocrite, and I say that as truth. You used Martin Luther King Jr. as an example of a peace activist, one of your roles models, and then you spewed a ton of hate at me. Are you that blind?

god, what did you expect when you came here attacking passionate people for being too passionate?

Look, it's one thing to put your opinion out here, but it is another to put it out here and then hound people for disagreeing, like your opinion is the absolute.

I took the post as kind of antagonizing, like you were ready to get the passionate people all worked up then say "see I told ya so, you're so angry!"

I understand completely the message you were trying to convey, and if it works for you that is great. Politics can stress me out sometimes too, and I find myself just needing to chill and get my mind off of it (hard to do around election time though).

But some people are just passionate and irrational, some are passionate and logical, some are calm and logical, some are calm and irrational, or any other combination you can imagine. That's just the way things are.

Yes and I WILL be a journalist. But do these look like news articles to you? I have been studying journalism for about 4 years now, I know how it's done. I know you can't be biased (unless you work for CBS, of course ;) ) I know that WHEN WRITING ARTICLES I have to put my opinions aside. But WHEN POSTING ON THE HIP FORUMS, I can say whatever I want. See, there is a difference. Just b/c I am going to be a journalist doesn't mean that I am no longer a person with feelings and beliefs. It just means that I can't include them in my line of work. Of course, in the instances of editorials and opinion articles, I can put my input in. You should research all forms of journalism before you go making accusations. Your post/attmept to insult me was worthless.

Yes, with editorials you can give your opinions but you still have to back them up..you can't just give an opinion, you have to give your opinion backed up with facts as to WHY you feel this way..and I wasn't insulting you, you keep saying you are voting for bush but you quote things that most of the time are not true and you don't back it up, but I'll let you slide if that's how you wanna do it... i was merely pointing out you can't do that when you are in the media world, also, i don't care about CBS or FOX and no i don't work for CBS if that is what you are getting at :)

Gosh, I guess I'll turn in my tie dyes now and my bong and my pachouli, I'm just not worthy....
Oh yeah, I don't have any. Don't try to label me, you will fail. I am against Bush and his administration, that's all you need to know.
I'm not telling everyone they are wrong, only a few like you and god and a couple others. You can't handle that or what? Politics is the only thing that gets under my skin, I'm a very happy person otherwise and my life is really good.

People do care and activism does work, frankly it's the only thing that does. That and voting with your dollar.

I'm not "peaceful" because I post "mean" things on a discussion forum? :H:( awww, "sorry". lol, don't talk to me then, geez are you like 10 or something?

    Bush is "president".

Can you really not see your hypocrisy? You came in here saying everyone is too passionate and hateful. But we can't judge you? I'm only going by what you have posted about yourself anyways.

I'm telling you that you and everyone else should hate Bush like any sensible, conscionable person would.

If YOU want to just sit back and relax while this country and world goes downhill, then that's your prerogative, but you are out of line telling others to do the same.

What?!? What are you talking about? Did I ever say I hate you? I'm angry about the way the country is being run, I hate Bush. This is all I've said. Activists have anger. That's what gets people out there in the first place, anger about how things are going and the desire to change things.

Don't be such a big baby.

WTF does it matter what it has changed? Post something useful for once, Bandit.

Edit: I wrote a very calm post a few posts back explaining to god why some people may be responding the way they do. It's obvious that you are just antagonizing people when you ignore the calm posts, and focus on the more passionate posts, or the posts in stark disagreement to yours. You aren't here to reason or debate, but just to annoy those who may be easily annoyed. Grow up. (Bandit - you are especially too old to act so immaturly. My little sister used to do somehting similar...when she was 10)

Probably about 50+ people'e votes :) Going door to door or just talking to people about Bush, it has made a difference. If I wasn't angry at Bush, I wouldn't bother, but I am so I get out there and try to make a change. I have other things to do, but my anger at this administration causes me to fit that into my schedule. Plus I've met some really cool people.

    Peace, love, flowers!!!!

Minus the crap everyone else said. That is great green thumb. I am glad you are able to go out and talk with people about the way you see things. Wha tI am talkign about is your anger that you have shown in here. Hell, I could have been a perfect oppertunity to get one more vote against Bush. However, from the start I see you as just an angry person with misguided feelings.

And to Sera. I didn't reply to your post because I had no reason to. Is that hard to understand? Also, when discusing things, one asks questions pertaining to the discusion. Her anger does have something to do with this thread. I also asked because I wanted to know. With your question, why does it matter to you that I ask? Get over yourself. I am not here to ridicule people. I am here because I love debate.

As for you MM. I have not lied at all. You say things then I question you about them. If these people knew that you claim to have been scanned by aliens they wouldn't take you seriously.

    Both candidates are the same

They couldn't be more different. Kerry has shown he has the courage to stand up for his views, Bush pretends it takes courage to send others to die for his views- and even had the gall to try to get people to pity him for having to comfort the families of our dead.

    Kerry served, Bush evaded.

Kerry took a deep breath and set out to do a job. Bush took a long deep snort of cocaine and screwed his own nation.

Kerry spoke his mind from the streets to the floor of the Congress. Bush drove drunk making streets hazardous for anyone in his path.

Kerry believes in paying as we go; Bush believes in letting the youth of America pay the bill in dollars and blood on top of it.

Kerry is only human. Bush isn't even a human fucking being (no, that wasn't a listening device under his jacket, it was the point of his goddamn TAIL!)

Vote. Vote early and often. And if you show up to vote, and find that your voter registration was destroyed by the RepubliNazis, cast your vote another way, with a level of courage shown by the great John Kerry.

You're damn right I'm angry. About too many things to list. You all should be angry.

At one time I was so defensive of Bush that I was actually banned from this very forum.

Bush lied, Bush used me, and it could have cost the life of my son, who was being persued by recruiters at that time- and he was listening to them, talking seriously about his options. That's not WHY I'm mad, but that's why I'm as angry as I am.

Our "president" has caused the death of more than eleven hundred American soldiers, overwhelmingly GOOD young people, from the best generation of youth this nation ever produced.

He fucked with my family. He fucked with the very life of one of my children. It's VERY damn personal.

VOTE. Show up. Let's do this thing.

Thanks Sunlion, I appreciate the help. What you posted is true.
The people who say we shouldn't be angry must not know anyone in the Iraq war, I know several and I know two good friends who will ship out at the end of Oct. and the election is sure to have an impact. If Bush is elected what will that say to Iraqis?
I don't think I should have to hide my anger at this administration, I don't care if it's inappropriate, impolite, or unattractive. It's there and I won't deny it and I'm not shy about expressing it.

Bandit, I don't think you were ever reachable. I'm not misguided, I'm guided by the truth, how could that be wrong?
