It's shit. I can't find anything to watch tbh. It's like I guess good for series shows but I have a hard time watching anything that isn't HBO tbh. A Netflix Original for me is like... Yeah nah. Without the "yeah".

They just have the same movies and stuff as other platforms, all the commercial and mainstream types.

Now you're a cinema man, I'm a cinema girl. If it's airing first time is on Netflix, I ain't waiting all day to watch a movie release at home, if it's not good enough for the big screen it's not good enough for me. :p I want to go on opening night and soak in the atmosphere and snear comments at people who talk and laugh loudly during the movie. What am I like, going to watch a new movie on the couch with my wife or something? :p

    What’s great about it?

You are of course familiar with the cast of characters like Rey from Jakku (although when she first touches the lightsaber she has a vision of herself as a child with her parents leaving her on the planet Jakku) so she’s probably not from Jakku,
and her lover the renegade stormtrooper Finn, (although there’s a rumor afoot that there’s another uncomfortable love triangle between Rey, Finn, and a new character in the trailer named Jannah (that black girl) who falls in love with Finn,
(Just like in the original series between Luke, Leia, and Han) Then of course there’s Rose Tico who professed her undying love for Finn, (and kissed him passionately) before falling into a coma, then there’s the weird relationship between
Rey and Kylo Ren - Do you get it now?

    The trailer is enticing

I could go on and on for for hours, but what's the point if you don't really care?

I care, I just don't got out of the trailer what you got out of it.

Arguable how healthy that is.... :p You allow yourself to be hyped up about it because it is released around Christmas time? Why is christmas time key in that.. Sorry, probably overthinking your words here, but it does sound strange imo.
I'm just as psyched for the Fallen order game though, but I see no need to validate that :D

I do not understand what makes something a 'Netflix Original'. I'm pretty sure I saw that title accompany series not made by Netflix and even with some movies that are older than Netflix itself I think. So... why a lot on Netflix is called as such.. no clue. It becomes meaningless when I know its not originally from Netflix

I don't know the actor, I'm sure he's good though, just not for this role. Besides that he as an actor doesn't make a convinced important villain (yeah, yeah, maybe he's supposed to be a good guy in the end after all: wouldn't make it one bit better imo! On the contrary) it's also how his character fits in the bigger story. He's some kind of tool of bigger villains and shouldn't have the power he has in that first order. The first order itself too is imo a disappointing continuation of what the empire was. One of the lamest moments in episode 7 was when that commander guy with english accent gives a pointless speech to his own troops on Starkiller base. And as stated before; Starkiller base itself is rather lame too. Just a bigger death star, really.... The son of Solo and Leia is the most promising new Jedi but turns to the dark side, really.... A kid could have written the basis of this story. And wtf is with his helmet? Darth Vader had a proper reason for his mask that happened to look scary, Kylo Ren just has a scary mask for... what?

As for the Christmas time thing, it's sort of a tradition to have a blockbuster release around then. I've actually gone to the movie theater (a rarity for me) around Christmas time. I forget what I watched though. Anyway, it can place a timestamp in your mental passport of that time you went to see Star Wars at Christmas time. I guess I think that's fun. :)

It's comparable to how you would be excited to attend a concert by your favorite band. So, hopefully it lives up to its hype! :D

WOW! So it now appears the Death Star II wasn’t entirely destroyed at the Battle of Endor and Rey and Kylo Ren will battle it out in the emperors throne room.

And oh btw it didn’t crash land on Endor as many have surmised but on the planet of Kef Bir (Thank God so we don’t have to deal with that insipid tribe of Ewoks)

Goddamn it, are you serious!? Did you see that explosion... It was obliterated.
Still, if there's a credible reason to go back to what's left of the second death star (only reason i can think of would be some important artifact of some sorts i reckon, probably for Kylo) this location suits me better as a final fight scene as the over the top footage in the trailer. If it didn't look like it got utterly destroyed at the end of episode 6 that is. And as it was orbiting Endor you really would expect most of the remnants would crash there though. Ah well, maybe it did, but the throne room part crashed on the planet. Still a stretch there's something worthwile to find in the wreckage imo. And why else would they need to return there?

Ok, took a search because i was wondering and Kef Bir appears to be both the location of the remnants of the second death star AND the watery location in the trailer. Now, lets hope there's a good reason to go to that rusty piece of shit (other than to provide a spectacular setting)

It's too late now. So... just not for you.

You have to be infected with love for the original trilogy and setting as a youngster.

  16. Clearly not true, as, at the time, the people paying tickets to go see Star Wars were adults. My dad loved Star Wars, and it rang true for me on a quite personal level, because I always saw him as Darth Vader.

The new movies don't impact me so much. The prequels should have been more about Anakin's fall from grace, but instead he never had any grace and was always just conflicted. I would have opted for something much darker. And the new movies...they're just making Star Wars movies, and I suppose that's all they'll ever do from here on out. No tragedy, per se. I'm a big fan of tragedy. I don't think it was fully hashed out how Anakin's transformation into Darth was a tragedy. You can talk about someone bringing order to the force 'til the cows come home, but the whole "the one" scenario should have been totally overshadowed by his sheer heroism, and it wasn't. I am disappointed. I can envision a prequel so dark it makes people leave the theater. And that's what I was kind of expecting, though I could have endured it. Not bad, necessarily, though. Except the CGI. That's just plain terrible.

  17. People spend too much time focusing on action and forget to develop relationships between characters these days. In the prequels, the bond between Obi Wan and Anakin was of the utmost importance, and it was completely glossed over. Completely. I mean, you don't even see Anakin for what, twenty years? I don't know.

First and foremost, the entire prequel trilogy should have been about Anakin. But it wasn't. It was about the "Galactic Republic" and all this other crap. Which has its merits. But I, and I think everyone else, would have been more satisfied with a more personal story about one particular man's fall from grace. A character study.

I mean, just imagine if, at the end of Return of the Jedi, Luke had actually succumbed to the emperor and joined him. Yes, everyone would have hated that. But that's what you expect to happen to Anakin, so it wouldn't be a surprise. We all knew what was coming. We just didn't know it would be so goddamned basic.

I'm just so disappointed knowing what could have been.

My guess it has to do with a force ghost. - Perhaps Palpatine who was wrapped in a cocoon of force lightning before being tossed into the abyss by Darth Vader.
He may have come back as a force ghost, or perhaps it’s Anakin Skywalker himself

Yeah, I found this shot in particular exciting, this is some rather good looking CGI
