I thought Solo was just ok but still better than Episode 8 The new movie takes place after episode 8 so I would say unlikely. Solo takes place between Episode 3 and Rogue one. Rogue one's story ends where Episode 4 begins.
True, that will likely be it. Lets hope its done in a meaningful way. I thought the story in episode 8: the last jedi and how they used certain mind stuff (like the interactions over great distance between Kylo and Rey) were serving no good purpose and actually quite lame... How Luke used that in a similar way (projecting himself somewhere where he physically wasn't) was good imo. I also like how he lived on that island :-D
Good theory... I totally fell for the parents are nobodies thing... Ren is definitely conflicted. I think another Jedi will emerge.
The purpose is clear. And I agree, much needed. But how this layer was applied was imo too easy and uninspired. I wasn't impressed or intrigued at all. If the viewer has the feeling the way they create the tension is too obvious and not compelling it doesn't work.
So Disney is going to milk the cash cow more? I have not seen the last few movies. George Lucas wrote a 9 part story to start. The studio said he could have one movie so he rewrote the script for one. They wanted a sequel so he rewrote for 3. Now they want more and he had to add story. They keep modifying the plot just to fit more in. There are some elements Lucas left out when he thought he had less movies that he added in latter but not everything. People enjoy it though and that is what matters. There are like 12 movies with Jason for the same reason: people will keep paying to see the story.
I like Rey now. I think she's going to be big in this movie; more so than the last ones (she was in more than one, right? Force Awakens.. Last Jedi.. I think I have it right).
Episode 7 and Rogue one are pretty good. I have only watched Solo once in 3d and I didn't like it that much for a large part because of the lousy 3d aspect. I'm looking forward to watch it in normal hd. Episode 8 is not really good. I like the prequel trilogy a lot.
I also have really enjoyed several Star wars video games btw. Yes, she appeared first in episode 7: The force awakens and is also in 8: The last jedi
I played one game; I think it was "the force unleashed". I had no complaints because it was fun! But I don't think I was playing as Luke... It didn't have an R2 unit that I can remember. I don't remember if I ever rode on a skiff... so I don't know. Not as connected to the Star Wars I remember as a kid as I'd have liked really. They should make a video game like that if they haven't. Disney could do it. Buy the rights and make a video game of epic proportions.
Yeah prequels are more my childhood. Those were good movies. I don't dislike the new movies I just lost interest when Disney bought it. They own everything and they get to take over the whole story and past. I just assume it will suck. When it's on Netflix I might watch it.
