The Last Jedi was simply bad, and Episode IX was just not properly thought out – it was a mess. What was good about it; Ben Solo; redemption, the fight scenes, action, flashback scene, comedy; C3PO, and virtually no Rose Tico What was bad about it; Well there was no real sense of danger, everything came too easily, super weapons, plot holes, and zombie Palpatine (which was a disaster)
I don't think I trust Star Wars fans anymore Online, most of the negativity seems to come from males that were teens when Empire/Rotj came out. Those that are half a decade away from being grumpy old men
If you think I’m just being negative I’m not, I loved The Force Awakens. My problem is with the last 2/3 of the trilogy.
I just realised, Rocketman, Endgame, Joker and ROS are the only movies I went to see at the cinema this year. That's easily about 2/3 less often than I would have gone in previous years. I think we are fully now in the streaming generation and it's effects Whats the use if TV shows look better than big production cinema films? Especially like Mandalorian Vs Endgame. Too much of endgame still just looked like a cartoon. Whereas my favourite scene out of anything this year was flying bounty hunters with laser blasters in The Mandalorian, fuck that looked cool I have to catch up on The Witcher, LIS, TWD in the next couple weeks, and then Picard starts next month. Summer here, if it had been 5 years ago, would have gone to the cinema half a dozen times in that time frame
For me this was the best of the three easily, there were no parts I will fast forward through later. It was action packed and a blast There was a sense of danger in wondering if she was going to turn into a Sith and Abram's taking a wrecking ball to a happy ending
Code 8 was a nice surprise. Totally unoriginal storyline (mutant powers), well with a crime twist that makes it a bit original and what might be considered a B grade movie But they had these robot police "guardians" that looked totally convincing Another one where you think, jeez, if B grade movies can look like this, just that little bit harder to care about movies with $200 million + production budgets.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I admit TROS is a fun enough thrill ride, but in terms of saga storytelling it's a ludicrous mess that contradicts both TFA and TLJ.
The cinema I go to I went the other day to see Jumangi and they have a light sabre coke cup. I'm going to get it when I see this movie.
Thanks for reminding me, hope I can get my hands on that soon after release as well! Not sure how yet though I think you gonna love the new season of Lost in space!
That's were I get suspicious "ludicrous mess" Like what exactly? She finds out what her granddaddy did to her parents, then goes to try kill him, that's pretty much the entire plot right there What's "ludicrous"? What contradicts TLJ - the movie you hate anyway?
I enjoyed Rise a little, but nothing too meaningful for me. But I love that it might have been more meaningful to all the little girls out there, and even the older ones. It's kind of hard to estimate it's worth in the moment.
And I only just realised who the guy that plays The Mandalorian is. That guy that played one of the Martells in Game of Thrones. The one that got his head squished by The Mountain
Ultimately, Star Wars falls prey to the fact that we are a more cynical and jaded society. Seeing the good guys win just doesn't mean what it used to. And until we become the good guys again, it never will. But you're even cynical of this. I just feel like that golden age is over, and now we know we're all on our own, every man for himself.
