And they can't shoot for shit No matter what movie Even towards the end of the Mandalorian, there were 2 companies of them taken out by one robot
No it's not padantic. I'm a total sucker for shit like that, even though it's a fantasy movie, I need realism and structure. My biggest gripe ever is Predator 2 and when Danny Glover takes off the Predators mask. Now in the first movie when the mask comes off the vision turns red and he couldn't see very well but in Predator 2 taking off his mask made absolutely no difference in his thermal vision whatsoever, even if they only showed his vision twice after, they still fucked up and it fell short. And pretty much Predator has gotten worse and worse ever since.
I did actually notice they can't shoot. It's like a video game lol. And I actually wondered and thought about it while watching the movie.
And another nitpick I have with star wars is.... Like I know technology has gotten better to produce better looking movies, but the technology in the movies also increased to where they were using weapons that weren't available in the original movies or having much cooler robots. I know they can pull that off now with CGI but the first new movies were based before the original, so they shouldn't have way cooler technology. They did the same in terminator. At the start the first 2 terminators in the apocalypse were the same. Couple tanks and flying machines and terminator bots with big laser guns. In T3 they ruin this by adding terminators with mini gun laser and fancy fucken robot tanks and I'm like NO NO NO!
Pedantic? Ha, ha, ha…. I would ordinarily agree if there wasn’t at least a dozen more mistakes and inaccuracies. Next point: I was just as excited as you when Lando Calrissian showed up with a fleet of resistance fighters, my question is where the hell did he get that many fighters in such a short period of time? You know that’s bullshit. The place was almost impossible to reach and he managed to contact fighters spread across the galaxy, have them organize at a staging area, jump to Hyperspace, and all arrive at the same time and intact. ...lol...
Then again you wouldn't even need weapons, just hyperspace planets, comets, asteroids into the enemy...space junk
Actually, you know what my only criticism was after coming out of the cinema the first time (apart from horses on the deck of a star destroyer) Was that she kissed Ben, but then didn't pash Finn at the end. Was convinced she had Jungle Fever, it all seemed to be leading up to that. Celebrate a victory by kicking back, glass of blue milk, and riding some BBC
The next point was actually brought up by Asmodean when he quoted Palpatine from Revenge of the Sith. “Power, Unlimited, Power” Why did the Emperor’s force lightning only affect the resistance fighters and not the star destroyers or the TIE-fighters that were engaged in battle with the resistance fighters? Also, a star destroyer has a crew compliment of 29,000 men how did Palpatine manage to recruit that many men? ...lol....
Finally at least you admit the horses were at a bit bizarre. Short of having mag-locks on their hoofs, a minor attitude adjustment on the part of the star destroyer would have those horses and riders tumbling off the ship....lol..
It sounds like you determine which of those trilogies is best by the aspects that annoy you the least. But the story for one is vastly superior. Like, things actually make sense lol The bad guys are a lot better. It doesn't look as shitty as you make it sound. I enjoy a lot of environments and details. If the only thing the 'reyquels' has on the prequels is that it looks more slick than its only better in that aspect. Jar Jar isn't better but he's a side character. Kylo Ren is an unconvincing bad guy and a terrible, terrible cliché story aspect. I can't believe they went with a son of Han Solo and Leia becoming the new threat in the first place, so lame. Same with the Starkiller (an other over the top Deathstar). But then they also envisioned this new bad guy in a way that doesn't suit me in any way.
That its not scary makes sense. It was his name as a friendly senator. His Sith name sounds more ominous, but imo they went a bit overboard from the beginning with dark sounding Sith names. Names can be misleading! Ah well its scifi fantasy (which VG, does not excuse giant plotholes at all!)
After Last Jedi came out, I said I knew the bit about Reys parents being nobodies was a ruse and her grandad was either going to be The Emperor or Obi Wan Obi Wan would have been a better storyline on reflection They should have brought Ewan back for that in Ep 9 Rather than the TV show. TV show is being written by Hossein Amini who has some stinkers in his back catalogue. No idea why they chose him As for the prequels, there are another 100 reasons why they stink, but they are ancient history now
As for the Chris Nolan batman movies, 15 years on, I now think Batman Begins was the best of the three
When is this show coming? I saw the first 3 episodes of the Mandalorian last night and holy shit, that was a lot of fun :-D Absolutely loved it! Too easy mate. I like to hear the 3 most obvious reasons why you find the last trilogy better. Besides it looking more slick, we covered that already (and i agree it does, but that just doesn't make it great, or better than the prequel trilogy)
