Yeah well, we both know what was ment. I personally see no good reason why he should appear in episode 9. Well, no good reason storywise :p
And why would the fans insist on it if there's also a prequel about Obi Wan planned? Hope the makers aren't this stupid..!

That's one I didn't play. Well, only played a demo which i think was just the first level. The graphics and gameplay were fun, but the story seems bad.
I really enjoyed the Jedi Knight series (set during and after the events of the original trilogy). The first Knights of the old Republic (set 4000 years before the original trilogy) and the latest 2 Battlefronts.

Too late we already know Hayden Christensen will be in Episode 9.

His filming will begin next month and It’s assumed he’ll appear as a force ghost.

At some point Anakin Skywalker will appear in the same room with Rey, Luke Skywalker, and R2D2.
Could it be with all due respect to Sly and the Family Stone …A family Affair?

Sorry if I was too cryptic

I’m sure you’re familiar with the song ‘family affair’ by Sly & the Family Stone.

Well my reasoning is that Rey is related to Luke and Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader) i.e. The Rise of Skywalker.

Seems very unlikely. I mean through who?

And Hayden Christiansen can still pass for Anakin these days. I mean ghosts don't age :p But I can see more use for an Anakin reappearance than an ObiWan in episode 9.

  11. I wonder what they'll do if they make an Obi Wan movie. If they'll try to make it aesthetically fit with the prequels, or if they'll go for the aesthetics of the original trilogy. All of the latest films have been using New Hope aesthetics as far as the technology is concerned. If you watch the prequels to the end, you notice an abrupt, awkward shift towards the aesthetics of the original trilogy.

Obviously George Lucas and co. wanted to use the stylings of late 90s technology in the prequels. They probably thought the aesthetics of the original trilogy were too 80s. But it's totally a continuity problem. I don't think they were smart enough to realize it was a problem, though, and it's kind of laughably ridiculous at the end of Revenge when everything starts to go 80s again.

    Yeah, the differences are noticable.

I think the aesthetics in the prequels could be so different because it was in the galactic republic. The vehicles and armor of the clone army is simply not the same as that of the empire and its stormtroopers.
The new movies take place closer to the time of the empire so the aesthetics look more like the original trilogy than the prequels.

So it would depend for a large part on which part of ObiWan's life it will mainly revolve. His early life or Jedi apprenticeship before Anakin came around or the part after he cut his legs off and went off the radar :p Both have potential!

  13. It wouldn't bother me at all if the aesthetics of the 80s were just the way their technology is. I think during the time of the prequels the filmmakers were just trying to make the films look contemporary, which I think was a big mistake. There's no real explanation for why technology would go from the streamlined aesthetic of the late 90s to the herky jerky nature of the 80s, with all of its sharp angles in the course of 5 minutes of film.

I mean, let's face it, Star Wars is fantasy, and the technology of the original trilogy is somewhat dated. That doesn't mean you should change the entire look and feel, though. I like the way they're letting it go in the latest string of films. Personally I love that late 70s/80s aesthetic. Like it or not, that is the Star Wars universe. The prequels should have stayed true to that, IMO. I think it was rather gutless filmmaking.

Yups, me too. But I can't help it: love the aesthetics of the prequels just as much.

Btw: I still recommend the starfighter assault mode in Battlefront 2 if you wanna experience good dog fighting in the Star Wars universe. But not if you have to buy a console for it, as it has only 5 maps in that mode (and at least 2 are set in prequel setting: Kamino airspace and Kashyykk airspace. The others are in actual space :))

  15. Aren't they all from outside of the craft, though? I only like it when you're in the craft.

Kind of pisses me off now they put the hold on future star wars movies because of Solos box office.

Like they totally think its the fans not being interested rather than them making a movie that wasnt about anything, was a Star Wars movie but didnt have lighsabers or Jedis.

Kind of like if Marvel tried to do a Spin off movie where no one had superpowers

  17. I thought Solo was awesome. It had some really cool moments, too, like the whole Empire recruiting scene, and the whole Kessel run. The part of Solo was a little contrived, but that's a difficult role to play, basically trying to play another actor playing a part. I liked the robot chick, too. I've watched it multiple times now. Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars movie, though. I'm sure if they could have gotten a young Harrison Ford to play the role it would have done great at the box office, but unfortunately that was impossible.

It seems all Star Wars fans want to do anymore is complain about the movies. Granted, most of them do suck. I'm not a fan of the prequels or the sequels, really. I did like Solo and Rogue One, though.

I think Ive been done with the story line... and just watch for visuals. solo was good. I think they are still good .. far fetched, twisting the old book. I can deal with it. Ill make fun of them but still like them..

Yes, the more I watch episode 8 the more I dislike certain aspects that basically ruin most of the movie. Kylo Ren in episode 7 bothers me, but the movie as a whole is a lot of fun imo.

No, you can switch to cockpit view at all times! :)
They do? Man, that is stupid indeed...
I think the lack of jedis and lightsabers weren't the issue. See Rogue one :) But big parts of the story felt kind of stupid. Need to rewatch though for proper verdict
