all things change or perish. it may take decades or centuries or millinea, and geology is on an even grander time scale then that. culturally big changes appear to be taking place now, fueled by natural environmental limits and the combination of familar ways and population size coming into real and immediate conflict with them.

Cameron is in Brussels today trying to re-negotiate Britain's position within the EU ahead of an in/out referendum later this year. I think we should aim for 'ever closer union' as the Lisbon Treaty says, and fast forward to the day when the UK is part of a European super-state.

Just in agreement with your statement.

It seems that today, they are talking and fighting because others are doing it not because they truly understand the historic value or even the current value. There is the lack of seeing both sides of the situation, it is all singular and misinformation that spurs todays rally cries. Therefore as your statement suggest; they talk about what they do not understand and in turn lack credible independent thinking.

What you say directly above makes sense but from your prior post it's clear that you're not in agreement with with my statement. You want a peaceful world - which is a societal opinion, as opposed to wanting to live in peace, regardless of how most others live - which is a personal preference.

Ironically, you don't understand the history behind the culture that compels you to go along with the common idea of wishing for a peaceful world.

Sometimes glancing over a "thinker" post while drunk is a blessing and sometimes it is a curse.

my opinions are based on the combination of observations and logic, my own and imperfect of course, but none the less, and thus, where they fall on a scale of popularity, is wherever they may, and of no great moment. a logic not devoid of consideration, as i don't believe logic can be, but popularity is not an over riding consideration of consideration either.

Speaking of psychopaths, i watched a documentary about Steven Avery last night....who was convicted and spent 18 years in prison.....and then when DNA forensics were perfected, and the hair found on victim's body was not his....was released....to become a hero......hugged and loved by many. he was in the process of suing the justice system for millions, and then a woman disappeared on his property after he was released and her body was found burned and buried on his property, so he is back in prison now for life..... they made a documentary centered around him called the making of a murderer......

In his younger days, he doused a cat with gasoline and set it on fire....that was proven he did it. he would never have been my hero, and how anyone could have hugged him after that is beyond me....and my unpopular opinion here would be stricter laws against these vile crimes against any animal....as many of the psychopaths start out doing.

all life forms, at least those with brains and a central nervious system, should, to the fullest extent possible, be protected by exactly the same laws as apply to humans.

Dave Matthews was born in South Africa and has dual citizenship to me that makes him African American.

I don't think anyone under the age of 18 should be wearing makeup or dying their hair. Heck, I would say older, but by that time they are considered adults, so whatever. Anyways, you got everything naturally that makeup and dye would give you.

wtf=great? a great is an object to shred cheese with, but other then that, its a meaningless sound that induces knuckle draggers to throw away everything that is worth a dam,
    and for what? for b.s.

this comes up because chump and limbo say they want to 'restore' it, while hillary and maaaar, say it was never lost, to me, none of them make any sense what they are talking about.

i mean, there's a whole long list of words, that people seem to worship the sound of, without the slightest idea, or giving of a dam what they mean.
greatness, glory, freedom, love, success, failure, productivity, the list goes on and on.

(i'm not saying none of these words have meaning, love for instance means that giving a dam doesn't begin and end with yourself, but they way people use them, as if just the sound of them, were some magical thing, that didn't need to have any meaning beyond being so.)

strangeness is wonderful. strangeness is what beauty would not exist without. epicness ruins everything.
tyranny is always aggressiveness and aggressiveness is always tyranny, whatever ideology, belief, or anything else, an excuse for it, is made out of.

I could've made that same question/comment about Charlise Theron. To me it just points to the weakness in our language. Another example is the word/title Caucasian. Which literally means from the Caucasias Mountains. I'm pretty sure I'm not from there either.

One of my friends told me about an incident one of her professors had. He was from Egypt. He had to fill out a form and checked the box next to African American. Someone got angry because he didn't check the box next to Middle Eastern. He promptly gave them a geography lesson and pointed out that Egypt is on the African Continent.

Personally I'd have the word 'epic' struck out of the language, except when it refers to long poems.

i find it amazing how unaware people seem to be, of how mind boglingly over used the word and the concept have become. its like the fat and the salt and the sugar in fast food and tv dinners.
but the main thing is people have come to expect gratification that isn't there, its like pavloves bell, and they just start insanely drooling. not the long poems obviously, but how its just applied to everything.

'Iconic' is another word I dislike in that it gets massively over used and applied to just about everything.
