Yeah I can crochet and chain. I don't know if I'm ready to step it up to making a Tam, but I'm willing to try.
just chain like 5 or 6 join the chain into a loops then start crocheting around and around increasing the size of the circle by putting 2 crochets into a hole every once in a while. Theres probably some formula to it you could look up but i just wing it... when you get a flat circle the size of a dinner plate or so start decreasing by skipping holes now and then. eventually it will turn into a tam. With this particular tam I ended up screwing it up when it got to dinner plate size because I over increased and it was all wrinkly so I ended up taking out about half of it and restarting. Just wing it and go for it. Making a tam is like one step up from making a pot holder in my book
