Check the date of these tweets. At the time we were supposed to save masks for medical workers.

Can you find a recent statement similar to this form the CDC?

My link is proven you can't even find current events. There is few stupider things you could do than to argue over settled science. Facts don't care about your feelings.

He was showing how expert opinion must be taken with a grain of salt. What have experts not been wrong about? Should we pretend that never happens and just ping pong along with them? Hehe At least older people should know better.

Everywhere lists the new cases each day, the running totals for number cases and deaths, and the number of people who have recovered. It's on Johns Hopkins, too. At least in some regional granularity. Where are the active cases, i.e., the number of people in that area currently positive? That's more important to me than the running total because it's more reflective of my current risk. So why aren't they telling us???

Could'a been true... We can't read their minds.
Except that they weren't saying that. They were saying masks can't help the general public!

See my above reply to the Cap'n.

Actually the process is called learning. Science builds in the ability to change a hypothesis as more information in gathered. Many people put a lot more credence to this process than the yet unnamed virus in the White House that causes......an inability to learn, blind obedience to dogma, and contempt prior to investigation.

Is that what it's called? Thank you for the enlightenment! Dummy me for expecting that to be obvious. Of course it just substantiates my walkaway point that we have to take the word of experts with a grain of salt.

Here in southern ohio, I've noticed signs that all start out with the same lie: "Due to current state law...."
Truth: There is no state law. Our idiotic governor issued an executive order, which is NOT law, as congress didn't create or pass it first, and therefore it is a criminal offence to make any attempt to enforce it, or to aid and abett those who attempt to do so. I'm pretty much done wasting my time with numbskulls who never had a civics lesson in school. Governors and health department officials over here don't have the authority to create law. However:

I've come to realize that more of these over-sensitive pansies are gonna drop dead from panic and heart failure getting worked up over this silly crap than from covid, and for that reason alone I'll wear the stupid things when I go into a store if that's what they want. I'm not there long enough for it to become a problem for me, and there is no reason for me to waste time discussing civics, let alone my own health issues with them all over and over again every time I go somewhere. My own health issues are nobody's business but my own.

Working out getting exercise, being outside in general, riding my bicycle or out in the boonies....no way will I waste my time with them for these things, but it seems to bring such peace to others while in stores and such and that's worth it to me.

As for vaccines, I've read and seen too many bad things from too many studies and doctors to trust them. It seems that some vaccines MAY provide some protection from the particular strain they were designed for, but not THIS YEAR'S strain. In addition, there are the toxic additives that come with them, and the possible side effects aren't worth it to me. Possible infertility, autism, and other disorders and/or injuries are entirely too prevelant for me to take the risk. I'll take my chances with my own natural immunity, thank you. If that's a problem for you, stay away from me. That's what "social distancing", otherwise known as "isolation", is for.

I carry a typical surgical mask and a HEPA respirator with two different kinds of filters in my car. I'll continue to do so, just as I always have, but I'll use them at MY discretion. I'm not living my life behind a mask for any reason. Your company isn't worth that, but do go on wearing your 24/7. After all, it works, right? And if it does, you don't need me to wear one way over here where I'm avoiding you. Are you sure yours works?

EDIT: I need to say one more thing here. Don't ask me to provide shit for you as proof or references. If you're too lazy to spend YOUR time doing your own research don't waste any more of mine. My time is just as valuable to me as yours is to you. Thank you, and you're welcome.

Let me get this straight. You governor issued an executive order, but you think it isn't law because congress didn't create or pass it? Is "congress" the U.S. Congress? I don't know of any state legislature that's called "Congress". News Flash: the state government of Ohio doesn't depend on the U.S. Congress for lawmaking authority.(Check out the U.S. Constitution, Tenth Amendment). Your governor was acting under the authority vested in him by the Ohio Constitution and in accordance with Section 5502.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. State executive orders, like federal executive orders, carry the force of law. Governors' Powers & Authority - National Governors Association
You seem to be living in an alternate universe where the rules are whatever you want them to be.

Ignorance on stilts! I can see why you don't want to have to back up what you say, since it's wrong. But a fundamental principle of discourse is :"(S)he who asserts must prove." The prudent reader should ignore everything you say from now on.

You think an executive order is the same as the states legislation?

Your high school level education is showing again

At least this time it was only one link, which you still didn't read

DeWine is only allowed to give such orders after a state of emergency is declared, which in itself is temporary

Here's the rub on that: Dewine himself later admitted his "orders" went too far and he knew that nobody would obey him. This resistance to laws and edicts that we find repugnant is our right and duty as citizens, and it is foundational to our republic and our constitutional way of life. WE don't serve him. HE serves US. Servants don't give orders to their masters. At least not if they wish to continue enjoying their lives and fortunes. Resistance is always the first action. Voting such people out of office is another, as is continued resistance. Violence is, and should always remain the last resort for either side. This ain't Europe and their ways don't apply here.

It should be noted also that Biden's behavior can't be brushed off as "locker room banter", either. The guy's a screaming pervert in my opinion, and should've been called out and held responsible years ago.

In addition, his all-too-well-known racism and bigotry should've disqualified him, and nothing appears to have changed there in recent years, either, so there's that to consider.

Section 5502.22 of the Ohio Revised Code applies to the following. It does NOT grant power to create law by edict, nor does it grant power to bypass the constitutional process for creating laws here in Ohio. Tishomingo has taken this way out of context.
In addition, The highest courts have already re-affirmed that, in cases of emergency or nation disaster, even when our constitution may be suspended, our individual rights CANNOT BE SUSPENDED. Seems that, unlike Tosh, our highest courts are well aware that, just as the constitution reminds us, our rights do NOT come from either the government or the constitution, since they existed previous to either, and both were forbidden to interfere, restrain, restrict, or regulate them. There is already abundant information regarding this and any willing to do so are still very free to do so, especially since it's OUR responsibility as citizens to do so.

    Carry on.

The Governor has issued a state of emergency, and presumably it will last as long as there is an emergency, as he determines in light of the data.
    Executive Order 2020-01D
    March 09, 2020
    Declaring a State of Emergency

Your lack of reading comprehension is showing again. I don't "think" but know that an executive order instituted according to law is a legally binding rule--not "the same as the states legislation" but carrying the force of law. It isn't legislation, but it is a rule having the force of law. At least that's what the American Bar Association thinks:
"Both executive orders and proclamations have the force of law, much like regulations issued by federal agencies, so they are codified under Title 3 of the Code of Federal Regulations, which is the formal collection of all of the rules and regulations issued by the executive branch and other federal agencies.
    See also https://www.nga.org/wp-content/uplo...m_Law-Enforcement-and-Stay-at-Home-Orders.pdf
Executive orders are not legislation; they require no approval from Congress, and Congress cannot simply overturn them."
    What Is an Executive Order?
Most executive orders are issued under specific statutory authority (like Section 5502.22 of the Ohio Revised Code) and have the force and effect of law.
"The authority for governors to issue executive orders is found in state constitutions and statutes as well as case law, or is implied by the powers assigned to state chief executives. Governors use executive orders—certain of which are subject to legislative review in some states—for a variety of purposes, among them to:
    • trigger emergency powers during natural disasters, energy crises, and other situations requiring immediate attention;
    • create advisory, coordinating, study, or investigative committees or commissions; and
    • address management and administrative issues such as regulatory reform, environmental impact, hiring freezes, discrimination, and intergovernmental coordination.
For state by state information on the power of governors to issue executive orders, see “Gubernatorial Executive Orders: Authorization, Provisions, Procedures” (Table 4.5, The Book of the States 2019, source: The Council of State Governments)." Governors' Powers & Authority - National Governors Association
"Calling it ‘the law of the state’ is fair," said I. Glenn Cohen, a Harvard Law School professor. "Statutes passed by legislatures are what most people think of when one says ‘laws,’ but from a lawyer’s point of view, a common-law decision by a judge, a regulation, or an action by the governor would all qualify broadly as ‘the law." PolitiFact - Are stay-at-home orders 'laws,' as Jay Inslee said?
James G. Hodge Jr., director of the Center for Public Health Law and Policy at Arizona State University, called it "entirely accurate" to consider an executive order to be a law. Laws can be derived from a constitution, a statute, a regulation, case law, "or orders implemented through legal means, including emergency powers invoked by governors." PolitiFact - Are stay-at-home orders 'laws,' as Jay Inslee said?

"Executive orders have the legal effect of a law." What a Presidential Executive Order is and How Can it Be Used?
In normal times, executive orders by governors apply to state agencies under the governor's direct, supervisory control (such as cabinet departments), but in extraordinary times that constitute real states of emergency, the state governors can invoke the state's inherent "police power" reserved to states under the Tenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Pandemic Authority - ABA Legal Fact Check - American Bar Association
Ordinarily, it is the governor who has the power to declare a state of emergency. His decision can be challenged in court if there is an abuse of discretion. So far, no successful challenge. His decision can also be limited or overturned by legislation. So far, none of that.

You're giving Australian education a bad name.
