If I was a pioneer - surly I would die this winter. We only have 24 jars of blackberry jam and about 30 pounds of potatoes stocked up from our garden. In my defense the pioneers didn’t have to deal with the weird weather we have these days. Cheers

when we built the cabin, thats all we thought about,, how we would have perished,.. granted we were working full time as well as building the cabin and gardens and animals.. but we had power equipment and still didnt get it all done in a season..

the pioneers were amazing people is all i can say..

We dug our potatoes last weekend. I was dissapointed with our yield. I only ended up with 3 tomato boxes of taters. I think I'm going to plant my potatoes in my brother's garden next year. His soil is much richer and stays more moist as it is near a creek. Live & Learn!
