I listened to an interview from an old skool rapper about a year ago, I want to say Chuck D from Public Enemy and he likened this new era of rap to Hair Metal with the extravagant looks in the face tatoos, colorful hair and excess.

I thought that was an interesting perspective.

 

I think it also has a little bit to do with the fact that the know that they are talented and believe that their talent extends to the amount of drugs they can handle

 

Edit: He might have said disco actually. I dont know where I got hair metal from lol

Except instead of the cocaine of the disco days, its lean and pain pills now

 

Lean is good though, I always look forward to bronchitis because they always give that to me haha

 

I'd love to tour and all that stuff, I reckon it'd be heaps fun.  I'd just try and keep alive and things.

When I met ICP they didn't seem to be having much fun on the after party side they told me they were both tired as hell and I said well 2nd last show dudes

 

I have to start learning the Daytona Speedway road course. You can see they use the oval on the map, but I've never run the road course in the centres.

I'm probably teaming up with at least my team for the Daytona 24hr race and possibly I'm being considered as a satellite driver for another team for their Daytona 24hrs.

No I don't have to race 24hrs lol, we will probably do 2hr stints between 3-4 drivers. Or maybe 4hr stints.

I think we are going to be running the GT3 series. What will be cool is the new iracing transitions, it'll go from day to night to day in real time.

I've also never run the GT3 car, but I know it'll be easier to drive than the NASCAR because A) it's actually engineered to race and B) all these fancy race cars have their aids, whereas a NASCAR is just a too bloody overpowered engine put into a chassis that doesn't want to do what the teams want it to do lol.

 

Touring on the scope of these rappers sounds Amazing to me as well. I don't know how it would be after decades on end but playing at all these amazing festivals and locations would be surreal.

I wonder about the legitimacy of a lot of it I mean surely when these cats pull their national or international tours they can't keep that up every night like you hear.

I've read heavy metal magazine tour articles and it's no uncommon for them to fully pack it in for the night early. A friend of mine met Dani Filth years ago backstage after a gig and he was just having a tea and going back to hotel to sleep.

Nah I don't think they party hard every night and why would you even want to. Even ICP said, well J said he doesn't like smoking weed on Tour because it makes his voice sound funny to him and they're meant to relentlessly party hard.

But for imaginations sake, yes mdma and titties all night does sound appealing.

 

Visually that was cool. I remember it pretty well . Around the same time the cliffhanger movie came out with salone and they crashed helicopter into the side of the mountain effect.

 

Cliffhanger lol where he's hanging on a rock and two feet away from getting his axe and I learned if you make a lot of mouth noises and squint you can miraculously grow your arm two feet.

I have arroven at this conclusion:

The music industry is anti-art.
It kills art on contact.

Not that this is why the young artists take drugs and die but it doesn't help to have an industry bent on making money out of them. Even if they don't die, the art suffers the minute they are famous.. Everyone telling them everything they do is amazing. I have a brilliant story to address this theme.

 

Honesty so far, from start to finish or if still going I've only come across a couple bands that seem to hold as much magic as the beginning if not got better.

Amon Amarth - got better
Hank 3 - stayed just as good from start to now

IMO

That's just what tickles my ear holes though.

Everyone else starts off okay, gets better then progressively gets worse trying "different things".

Such as Steve Earle who went all political and now flat out suckity sucks.

 

Im trying to think of other chopper movies.

Arnold probably has a few since people always imitate that "Get to the Choppa" line.

I'm pretty sure that had a Chopper scene, unsure if that's where that quote comes from. Some Bond movies probably have Chopper scenes too but none come to mind.

 

Pearl Jam have never made a bad album. Even if not someone's personal taste.. I don't see how anyone could argue it was bad.
Part of the reason for this is they don't release an album unless they feel they have something to give. They don't do it just to stay in the limelight or make money.
