He said that the yellowing of the older leaves on the potted plants looked pretty normal for a plant about to switch to flowering, but that it could be a mild nitrogen deficiency.

The curling of the one in the ground could be overwatering, but that is harder to do when it is in the ground, so not sure. The plant still looks healthy overall, though, so I'm not too worried about it.
