Today I heard a song by Shovels and Rope that reminded me how much I like them
And I just saw that they're going to be at my most favorite venue on New Years Eve. It's a tiny little (excuse my redundancy) venue so I'll have to be on it the very second they go on sale

Anyways you guys should check out Shovels and Rope

 

I've lost 2 kilos in the last 5 days. I'm not on a diet, I'm just a terrible drugs smuggler.

 

I think that we have had this conversation before, but I love Shovels and Rope. What is your favorite song from them? I will check it out if I don't already know it.

Also, on a somewhat unrelated note--do you have a southern accent?

This one always gets me, it's one of those I like to sing in my off key voice as loud and with as much passion as I can muster when I'm driving alone


Hells Bells is the first song I ever heard from them and will hold a special place in my heart... although I think this is technically a Carey Ann Hearst song rather than a Shovels and Rope song, but close enough



There's more but I haven't listened to them in a while, I need a refresher
I'm pretty sure the last time we talked about Shovels and Rope I posted those exact same videos lol

Anyways I don't have much of a southern accent. Southern people dont think I sound southern but northern people, or anyone not from the south, think I do so you would probably hear it

 

I guess now I am a fan of Shovels & Rope that hell sing is awesome

 

My best friend had a thing with a guy who was getting his musical start in Charleston around the same time they were and played with them constantly so I saw them live a couple times before they were famous.
They hit it big and that poor fella my friend was crushing on didnt lol

 

New terminator is showing in 2 weeks we got our tickets then noticed they were also showing terminator 2 a week beforehand so we got tickets to that too as I want to see that on the big screen.

Yeah, every now and again they do throwbacks. I've seen Alien, Predator.. Haha. and now T2 I guess.
I missed out on the never ending story, big disappointment for me.

 

But I get what you mean, they should do like a 1&2 combo.

From the last time I watched them I enjoyed 1 the most. It's just much more gritty and raw, you can really see the theatrical aspects and high production in T2, and until you get used to it, it's actually not as appealing as I used to think it was.
