Home inspection found some issues with the house, so now we have to wait and see if they're willing to fix them. Biggest one is some old knob and tube wiring... Most insurance companies won't insure a house without changing it...

Sure this are live wires? I been some homes with the knobtubes but they are not live anymore.

 

Yeah, unfortunately. Most aren't live, but we found at least some live circuits. Most seem to have been swapped out further up in the house,so hopefully they just have to fix a few stretches. We will see once they get an electrician in there this week.

 

if its private property it shouldnt matter. no one is a fugitive, right?

acreage is in our less-than-five-year-plan, but we have to save up the land upgrade money, well, septic, probably wont need to be hooked into the grid but will need to fund solar.
