Same, i had my car broken into a couple of years ago and my car insurance didnt cover replacement windows so it cost a fortune to replace

Now I just leave the doors unlocked and take any valuables with me. They can have fun rummaging through an empty car

we have pretty good immediate neighbors. one side is renters, they dont interact much. other side is a nice enough family. they have a little boy i think will be 1st grade this year. directly across the street is for sale.
a lot of the neighbors up the street toward the park we are on a nodding basis to, know some names. friendly.

but that one jerk who cant keep his nose out of everyone else's business is enough to sour anyone. thats why i have to shift a lot of the front yard gardening over to flowers and herbs, and maybe fruit bushes. he let up quite a bit when i made the walkways more obvious, but then he just found other stuff to complain about.

my neighbors are trash .. period . Im bring some this trifling video to the tax judge. Ive gone into dont give a fuck mode. I plaster their shit and annoy city council with tweets. I know what they are after.. My land it worth much, heck just pay me to take it over. allowing the neighborhood to be swamped with trash so we'll abandon and move. .. nah .. I dont think so.. as public safety has a job its not doing..

welcome to the modern age of lawsuits my idiots.

Got this letter today from my power company...

    Dig this...

    Efficient households used 793 kWh

    Similar households used 1057 kWh

    I used .............................. 648 kWh

My ranking out of 100 homes was 27th... even though I used less than the "efficient" ones. lol

Back of the letter is "helpful tips" to better my score. I'm supposed to increase my AC setpoint by 4 degrees.

    I don't have AC....

The other tip is to get a "smart thermostat" that's wifi connected... Not sure how to wire that into the wood furnace though.

    Fuck these morons....

I would like cameras, but for couples with trust problems they're a bad thing as I know people who sit and watch to see to see what they're partners are up to, or at least to see if the car is gone or something and that's not healthy they become addicted like big brother in constantly looking at their cameras.

I just want them to see what the dog gets up to.

I may need to try that. Had a knock on my door today and it's one of those Watchtower people. I answer the door half asleep from a nap and in my underwear and t-shirt. He asks right off 'What do you think the future holds?' I say 'Well I hope retirement, if I can ever afford it.' So he hands me a Watchtower thing and leaves. Strange folks.

I don't mind door knockers for what they're doing because if they can make someone's life a bit better with their positivity then I think that's beautiful. When I first had our own place and we got knocks we'd even let them in and listen. But then it's like they keep coming back lol. So now we don't.

when I was living in colorado, every sunday morning, 6 am, the little abuelitas would wander around the apartments trying to get people to come to their mass. I finally had enough of it. after asking politely for several weeks to please not come back, the next sunday morning I was waiting in my boxers (in 20F weather) little old gramma knocked. I walked outside and stood there on the porch with a HUGE grin and a very obvious boxer tent and told her how 'happy I was to see her!' (with big sweeping gestures that pulled the eye below the waist) I told her I was so glad to see her I was gonna have to 'hug her and not let go!'

oddly enough, they never came back after that morning.

I don't mind once or twice, but to come back every week for 6 weeks straight after being asked not to, and refusing to answer the door not dissuading them.. well, enough's enough.
