Ah Bamboo. It sounds like you've never enjoyed the fruits of the Pinion Pine Tree. Their pine nuts are deeeeeelicious. Although best bought from a store, unless you have sap retardant clothing to wear for picking your own. <g>
i know what your sayin there Crystaleyez..i've planted trees for 4 years now and have seen much devastation during that time..the worst though is when i'm up north (in ontario) in the middle of no where (doing other forestry work) where there aren't even logging roads built..seein massive machines cut and claw there way through the pristine bush, making roads, cutting blocks, is disturbing to say the least, i had to stop working the job i was doing... at least during the 80 years or so of growing , the trees provide an environment and cleanse the air etc...maybe in 80 years we will have found another way by then!?here's to hope!
Thanks ranger thats what everyone should be asking and here is the uncensored truth its a little long but well worth your time remember the greatest generation? The people who fought to stop hitler and save the jews, well while our grandparents and great grandparents were dying to protect our country this is what our leaders were up to. IT WILL MAKE YOU SICK! www.mega.nu:8080/ampp/elkhorn/elkhorn.html
tree farms fuck up the soil. and keep old groth like Red CLoud thunder in washington. Just kuz a company sais they plant new trees for every one they cut. the old ones have deep roots and hold the soil. new sapplings all of a sudden in their place freaks the soil.
tree farms dont cut down old virgin forests they use the same land over and over you see if the paper companys were to ruin the siol it would hurt production clear cutting and cutting of old virgin forests on the other hand is extreamly harmful to the environment. i live in a papermill town, they plant pine trees in massive rows 1000's of acres in size and when the trees are mature they cut them and replant.
We recycle paper products, but the drop off is 15 miles away, because I live in the backwoods! They turn it into bedding for animals, like in a pet store. When I grew up on a ranch, we had a big fire pit, and we burned everything! Since the 1970's, I think we have improved!
