Nesta, you always sound really intelligent in your posts. It's like reading an encyclopedia article in your explanation on Gladware. :)

Anyways, I've heard plastic can degrade marijuana, something to do with static electricity I think. I don't know if it's true, but I keep my weed in baby food jars, which seal very well (the threads on the lid are rubber) and are made of glass.

i'm gettin a large amount of pot in a couple days as well, and i know i wont be able to smoke it very fast..think im just going keep it in a jar like most people have suggested

i'm just worried about the weed going mouldy..i'll have to see how fresh it is when it gets here

The best solution I have come across yet, is the Tyvek bags... (they are shipping bags that you can use for mail)... they are puncture resistant, liquid resistant, blah blah blah (Most likley smell resistant too)... I came across this method when I needed something to store shrooms in.

Now, you can get these bitches for FREEEEEEEEE from the US potal service website... thats right... shipping, cost, everything is free... all you need to do is wait a couple of days =)

Good luck, they work very well =)

Unless the bud you bought was harvested from the plant less than a week ago, further curing would be impossible. To effectively cure marijuana the fresh bud must first be dried for a few days to a week in a paper bag, this removes the bulk of the moisture still in the weed. When it still feels moist but not to the point of it smelling like freshly cut grass, seal it in an airtight jar and keep this in a cool dark area stirring it and letting in fresh air periodically, and over a period of up to 6 months if it is kept in these conditions it will continue to cure increasing potency by up to 30%. But in your case, I'm assuming the bud has already been dried and packaged, further curing would have no effect due to the lack of necessary moisture needed for the process. This doesn't mean you shouldn't keep it in a sealed container which should maintain it's current state, just that the potency of the smoke won't increase.

Go to Publix (Uhhh, or whatever the grocery stores around you are called...I work at Publix and I know they have these) and go to the isle with tea and coffee and such...for about 3-7 dollars (Depending on the size) they have glass jars with an airtight rubber seal on them, they make them for keeping coffee fresh. And it works great for coffee, and it works great for weed haha...so yeah, that's what I have...and I coloured mine and such, very very helpful :)

look up, decarboxilation, and THCA(Tetrahydrocanabinolic Acid).

i don't really feel like explaining it again(I'm very tired). but the simple explanation is:
the plant grows buds, the buds cover with crystals, the crystals contain different forms of cannabinoids, the majority of cannabinoids being THCA, THCA is not psychoactive.

the THCA needs to be decarboxilated to transform to THC, which is psychoactive. the best way to achieve this is to dry and cure your buds. heat will also achieve decarboxylation.
check out this post for a good use of this chemical change.

as i said before, look it up, because my sleepy explanation is lacking the detail that i know you would want.

WTF? How the hell can an ounce last several months? Or even a couple of weeks? It's only 8-10 sessions, on average, if you smoke fat blunts.

W W, go to the head of the class.

You don't need to freeze weed. I store my weed in food-grade plastic (I get used 1-gal. containers from the local deli, the kind mayonnaise, etc. come in, washed out real good with water mixed with baking soda (to remove odors).
I have stored cured weed in these containers for over a year with no decrease in quality. In fact, quality (smoothness) increases if stored at exactly the right moisture content.

I don't like to use glass, It's breakable and most glass is clear (lets in light). Ceramic is the best inert material to store weed it, the kind with a rubber gasket.
Gevalia makes BITCHEN ceramic coffee cannisters in a variety of colors (the cobalt blue one's are wicked cool looking). They work great and look great.
My friend bought a couple of plain white ones and whenever people come over they add designs/sayings to the container.
