I haven't read this whole thread, but when I was young I used to have beetle farms made out of aluminum foil. then I would catch beetles and make them live there.
i don't have strange pet i think,i want to keep a strange pet, could you give me some suggestion?i don't like reptiles
Rats aren't really strange, but some people think they are, so that might be a good choice bleulune. Rats are very smart and personable. some are outgoing, some are shy. we have quite a few rats, and they live the good life. they are quite spoiled. I have found the female rats to be the most fun as pets, though males can be alright too, they all have different personalities. they like company, so it's best to have more than one (same sex please, you don't want them to breed, trust me, we only have so many because of an accidental breeding) or if you only have one rat just give it a lot of attention. they can learn tricks even. and they do not smell if kept clean, unlike some other rodents that either smell or require high maintenance. rats are quite easy to care for.
I used to have firebellied toads that lived with me...They are some stange creatures..it was freeky one night i was watching them and they started to rip there skin off..later I found out thats how they shed...I thought they were eating themselfs.
Oh boy..Great thread. Let's see...Here's a list of the animals that have adopted me... a red fox kit, a whitetail deer fawn, numerous rabbits, doves, several pound puppies, 2 boxers, 2 boston terriers, ferrets, mice, cats(had a 3 legged kitten once..born that way), and the list could go on and on. We did a bit of rehab with wildlife when I was a kid. Now, it seems like I run my own little rescue for the dogs & cats people throw out.
All I've had is "normal" pets so far, but when I was growing up we had a bluebird house that the chickadees would nest in. The same family kept coming back, and the chicks would fly out & ride around on our shoulders & grooming our hair as if they owned us. We did have a crayfish that lived 5 years in the dining room and a "pet" snake that lived under the back step and a nest of mallard ducks that lived in the hedge in the front yard that thought my daddy was their mama Some day I would like to have a cockatoo. But they're very expensive both in initial purchase & upkeep, and live just about forever so I need to decide soon or the birdie will long outlive me. love, mom
I few odd pets I've had the honour of sharing my home with were... Two robins.. (Rocken Robin, and Roberto) We hatched them, raised them, and set them free at 6 months old. Four baby ducks. I havent owned any strange pets, but I would love to have a Sugar Glider. Those things are focking sweet! I don't think many people know what they are though.
we've had racoons before! they were the most awesome! also had a turkey that just ran around our yard he would let you pet him.. he was more of a guard dog than our dogs were! and our cow named rhoda.. she'd never stay in the pasture she always stayed in the yard below the house though and was intelligent enough not to crap all over the yard!! lots of other interesting animals that we've had here... but those gotta be the most memorable for being interesting/strange lol
The weirdest I owned was a guniea pig. He was the most fattest guniea pig I ever seen lol! I was about 7 when it died.
